Remote-Control Cars and Icecream

Both boys have been sick this week. We've been to the doctor x 2, paid a co-pay x 2, and gotten prescriptions for antibiotics x 2, so we ended up with prizes x 2. I made the mistake of taking Jake to CVS with me while Tyson's mom kept Walker, and he immediately spotted a remote control car at the entrance and would NOT take no for an answer. Little does Jake know, I've already talked to Santa Claus about getting Jake a remote control car for Christmas, but I felt so bad for the little guy after all he's been through this week, I caved and got him the remote control car. I told him we also needed to get Walker a prize, so Jake picked out a Spiderman Car that Jake thought Walker would like...again, I wasn't even going to argue with Jake and tell him we couldn't get that car because it's a choking hazard, so we got the Spiderman car, too. I'm such a sucker these days.

Jake has been dieing to give his remote control car a spin, but the weather has been so bad these past few days, we haven't been able to get outside. Well, today was the perfect day; it was a little chilly, but beautiful. Jake had a blast with his car and did surprisingly well with it for his first time. He never ceases to amaze me!

To top off our fun morning, the ice cream man rode by as we were playing, so we all enjoyed an icecream to celebrate Jake's new toy and the boys feeling better! Ha! Happy Saturday!

Thanksgiving

G Mama brought Jake his very own UGA statue! Jake had a book that G Mama brought him the last time she came called "How 'bout them Dawgs!," and Jake is obsessed with all things UGA!
Our fancy Thanksgiving meal!

Why are my children so hard to photograph?

Jake wouldn't quit sipping his tea so I could get a shot of Worth and Tyson and their kiddos!

Ellie is definitely going to be a cheerleader like her mama and Aunt Kate!

We had a very low-key Thanksgiving this year in Birmingham. The only time Tyson got off for Thanksgiving was Thursday afternoon, so Tyson's mom came up, and we just had a small meal together. The boys and I were going to go to my parents on Friday since UAB's game was away, but my grandmother (my mom's mom) had surgery Thanksgiving week, so Thanksgiving was called off. :( I was soooo homesick for my family; I didn't get to go home last year or the year before that for Thanksgiving, and I just really miss celebrating Thanksgiving with my family. :( It was great, though, to be able to spend some time with MY family right here.

After we ate lunch, everyone napped and then we headed over to the Bowers' house to celebrate Thanksgiving with them. This will be the Bowers' last year in Birmingham, and we are really going to miss them. We don't get to see them as often as we'd like, but like Tyson says, it just makes you feel better knowing they are right down the road.

Thanks for spending Thanksgiving with us, "G Mama!" And thanks to the Bowers (Worth, Ashley, Ellie, Mrs. Pendy, and EW) for letting us crash your Thanksgiving. Even though I couldn't be with my family for Thanksgiving, I am so thankful I could spend it with Tyson's family! Happy Thanksgiving!

Turkey Day at School

Before we left for Turkey Day, I had to photograph my two little monkeys:

Decorating his Indian vest...

Daddy and Walker

Mama and Jake

Jake and his good friend, Kyle
How cute is this? The girls loved Mr. Tyson!

The Gator Class...with Jake turned around backwards.

My 3 favorite boys
My little indian.
Jake and his teacher, Miss Brittany.
I think Jake might have a little crush on Miss Brittany.

Even though Tuesdays aren't a school day for Jake, we joined his class today for a Thanksgiving celebration. It was so much fun to get to see all the kids and their parents and celebrate together. Tyson got to come, too, so it was a pretty special day for Jake having his whole family there.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Memphis

Jake was cheering with the band "U-A-B...GO BIG GREEN!"

Brantley loves Legion Field popcorn almost as much as Jake!

Cheering for Daddy's defense!

We love the Turner family! Thanks for being such good friends and supporters!

Best friends!

Headed to the locker room!

Walker was mackin' on the ladies...

...until Brooks hit him in the face, knocked him over, and made him cry. Ha!

Daddy and his boys.

(Notice the Nike wrist band thingy on Jake's left arm...one of the players gave it to him and he thought he was so cool! He wore that thing all weekend..."stankin" and all!)

UAB beat Memphis this weekend in the final home game of the year! I don't remember the score, though, because I had my hands full with two little boys, and the only time I looked at the scoreboard was to see how much time was left until the game was over. ;) But I survived the game by myself again, and more importantly, I survived my first football season with 2! It was hard...it was overwhelming at times...BUT IT'S OVER! Don't get me wrong, I'd rather be going to a bowl game, though, instead of being excited that the season is over, but it just wasn't in the cards this year for UAB. :( Oh well, bring on recruiting!

Oh, and now that the season is over, I just want to write a few things for my own records. 1) Jake is obsessed with Blaze (the mascot). He literally watches Blaze the entire game. 2) He has a hard time spotting Daddy from the stands...I don't know if he quite understands the difference in a coach and a football player. 3) Jake started out the season scared to death of the band and in love with the cheerleaders. Now, he spends almost the entire game standing (if he's not eating popcorn) and dancing to the band...he's still in love with the cheerleaders, though. 4) Speaking of popcorn, if I need to get Jake to sit still, I just give him some popcorn and that buys me at least a quarter. 5) Jake's favorite part of the game, though, is going to the locker room after a win with Daddy. I don't know if I approve of the things my 2 year old sees and hears in the locker room, but Tyson assures me he heard and saw the same things growing up and he turned out just fine. ;) I sure hope so!

As for Walker, each game got a little harder as he got more mobile. I had a hard time keeping him still, but somehow, we made it. He really was awesome, though, with all the noise and chaos; he's such an easy going baby! I say that, but his preference to a warm bottle made meal times difficult. You see, Legion Field had no microwaves or hot water, so I had to get a bottle warmer, go up to the box if we were in the stands (which was a hike), and warm the bottle (which took 9 minutes!). Ugh. I definitely won't miss that process next year!

I am so glad this season is over, but I'm actually already looking forward to next year. The boys will be older and hopefully more manageable, and maybe I'll finally be able to watch some of the game! ;)

We are so proud of you, Tyson! No matter how hard these games are for us, there is no where else we'd rather be. We love you so much and are your number 1, 2, and 3 fans!

Bathtime Fun!

Walker just discovered how much fun it was to splash his big brother...and himself in the process! :) Needless to say, my bathroom was covered in water at the end of bathtime, but it was definitely worth it to see these two having so much fun together! Thank you Lord for two little boys who love each other so much! It kind of makes me want to have 2 more just like them! ;)

Happy weekend everyone!

"Hey-eee"

"Hey-eee!"...

...and this is a close-up of the face Jake makes at Walker while he says "hey-eee!"
...and we're over it.

Jake loves to get in Walker's face and say "hey-eee," and Jake says it over and over and over again and Walker just smiles everytime like it's something he's never seen before. It is so cute. I wish I could get it on video, but Jake catches me every time and stops doing it before I can get it. Anyways, these pictures of "hey-ee" will just have to suffice for now.

Speaking of "hey-ee," I've heard Walker say something that sounds like "hey," but I didn't know if I was just making it up or not. Well, Tyson heard him say it this weekend and said he thought it sounded like "hey," too. He really is going to be my social butterfly if "hey" is his first word! We've also heard him say "da da" a few times before, but he isn't saying it as consistently as "hey." I guess all of his big brother's "hey-ee's" are rubbing off!

Since our game was last Thursday night, Tyson actually got to come home for a few hours this weekend. The boys LOVED it, and so did I! I'm quickly figuring out that Walker might just be a Daddy's boy!
