Mizzou Game

 Asher, Walker, Creed, and Jake

I almost titled this post "Defeated" because that is how I felt today, but I didn't want people to think I was talking about our football team..even though we did lose 21-16 to Missouri.  (I'm still in denial that we lost because we were soooo close to winning that game).

Anyways, back to me feeling defeated.  You know, with Tyson's demanding job and our family being so far away, I have to do a lot by myself with the kids.  It can be pretty overwhelming at times, but I get over it and move on because I have no choice but to.  Well, as you can imagine, taking these boys to a football game by myself is no easy feat, but again, I have no choice sometimes.  I actually considered getting a babysitter for this game because I knew it was going to be difficult with the heat and the time of day (nap time) it was; however, I wanted to give the boys a chance to see their Daddy.  Poor things only get to see him at lunch on Tuesdays (which lasts for about 30 mins) and at bedtime on Thursday nights.  That's it.  So, I wanted them to have a chance to see him after the game, even if it was for just 15 minutes before he had to go start breaking down film for the East Carolina game.

Wow, long story short- we made it through tailgating in the 95 degree heat but the boys didn't even make it to the 2nd quarter before they were in full-on meltdown mode.  I bought them sno-cones, popcorn, and water, I took them to the bathroom 3 times, I busted out the DVD player and every toy in my bag, I took them down to the medic area under the bleachers where there are fans, I tried everything I knew to do but they were miserable...I was miserable.  For the first time in my life as a coach's wife, I left the game early.  I left the game before half time.  I was defeated.

So boo hiss for not being able to see Tyson after the game and boo hiss for losing the game. :(  Next up, the Knights take on East Carolina this Thursday at 8pm in Orlando.  It'll be on CBS Sports, so check it out.  Go Knights!!

Bye Weekend

DISNEY WORLD!!!

For my mother-in-law- Chloe and Kristi from "Dance Moms"
 These two were inseparable!

 The Wensyel men

Sean, Jake, Walker, and Ryan- unfortunately none of them got the sword out of the stone.

This past weekend, UCF had a bye.  Tyson still had to work until noon on Saturday, but when he got off, we met up with our friends, the Wensyels, at Disney World.  We tagged along again on their handicap pass (man, do I feel guilty saying that) and got in and out so quickly that we literally rode every single ride that was age-appropriate for the boys.  It was awesome!  Even Tyson said at the end of the night, "that was a lot of fun."  Ha!  (FYI, Disney can be a tad bit stressful/taxing on these parents, especially my husband). ;)

Volcano!!

The other day, the boys and I made a volcano and I taught them how to make it erupt.  As you can tell by the pictures, they thought it was absolutely amazing!  In fact, Walker thought it was so cool that he dumped the whole bottle of vinegar in the volcano.  Needless to say, our volcano experience quickly came to an end. :)

(Please excuse the hot mess of a back yard in the background.  It's been raining so much here that our yard people haven't been able to come.  I really need to re-mulch, but after finding a snake in our pool the other day, I will not be stepping out in that back yard again. Ha!)

UCF vs "The Blue Teddy Bears"

 Pre-game

That's Tyson behind Coach O'Leary who is immediately to the left of #5.

#6 runs in the 2nd touchdown of the game!

 Knightro after our touchdown.
 Defense!!

Last weekend, my parents came to town to watch UCF take on the FIU Panthers.  Jake actually thought the panther mascot was a teddy bear, so he referred to the FIU players throughout the game as the "teddy bears."  For instance, he said, "Mama, did you see that UCF Knight tackle the Blue Teddy Bear?"  Hahahaha!  UCF won 33-20!  Woo hoo!

We had soooooo much fun at the game!! The stadium seats about 40,000 and it was packed full of Knight fans hooping and hollering!  It was one of the best college atmospheres I've ever been apart of.  I am so excited to be a Knight!!

We have a bye weekend this weekend, and we'll be back in action next Saturday at noon as we take on Missouri here in Orlando.  I think the game is on CBS Sports, so tune in if you can!!  Go Knights!

Technical Difficulties

Long time, no blog! My computer decided to quit working on me after someone (ahem Frank King) "broke" it this past weekend. Tyson is out of town recruiting (yay for a bye weekend) this week, but as soon as he gets back and can bring our other computer home from work, I'll be back! I hope all is well with everyone...we're doing well and recovering from a very fun weekend. More on that soon! Take care!!

Tifton: Dreamlites and Stompees

 My boys with Gracie
 My nephew, Jace

Look at their faces!  It must've been a very intense slide!

Jake got on the big slide!!

The boys and I just got from a weekend in Tifton visiting with my sister and her kids.  Amy's husband was out of town for the weekend and so was mine, so my mom drove down and we had a big girls' weekend!  Tyson's mom got to come hang out as well as my grandparents, too.

It was a very quick trip, but so much fun!  Saturday morning, we took the kids to a splash pad and wore them out pretty good so I could watch Tyson's game at noon (Ohio State 31- UCF 16). :(  My grandparents came for lunch, then the kids napped, and then we spent Saturday evening hanging out and enjoying lots of cousin time!  We had to leave early Sunday morning to pick Sam up from the pet resort, so that was it.  Like I said, it was a quick trip, but very much needed.  Sorry I couldn't catch up with our Tifton friends...I'll definitely have to plan another trip soon when we can stay longer!

Thanks for having us, Amy, and thanks Mom, Mary Ann, MaMa, and Granddaddy for coming to see us!

Oh, and as for the title, it kind of became the joke for the weekend.  You see, Jake has been begging for a Dreamlite (aka a pillow pet with a built-in night light), but I've refused to order one for him.  Well, who would've "thunk it" that Tifton, Ga carries at CVS and Walgreens!  It made Jake's week when I brought home his very own Dreamlite and one for his brother, too.  They were obsessed!  Well, Jace already had a Dreamlite knock-off, so I got him these Stompees that he has been wanting.  The child thought I hung the moon- he would not take off the Stompees for anything...he even slept in them that night. :)  Anyways, we looked like a walking commercial for "As seen on TV" at Amy's house. ;)
