Mount Rushmore!

The flags of the 50 United States

We found the Colorado, Florida, and Alabama flags, but this was my favorite.

Tyson, the boys, and I headed to Mt. Rushmore this past weekend for a little site seeing.  I wrote it in the other post, but it was supposed to be a 4.5 hour trip- it ended up being a 7 hour drive!  Luckily, we decided to make a weekend of it and packed some other trips into it, too.  I'll post about those later- for now, enjoy our pictures of our trip to Mt. Rushmore!  It is something I've always wanted to do; I can check it off the ole bucket list now!

South Dakota Bound!

First stop...Wyoming!!  I'm convinced that the only people that live in the whole state live in Cheyenne.  We drove for about 3 hours through Wyoming and saw no signs of life...or a bathroom, which is a problem when traveling with young children.
South Dakota!  This was only supposed to be a 4.5 hour drive to Rapid City according to mapquest; it ended up being more like 7 hours.  The boys were pretty miserable by South Dakota.

 Custer National Park

This was a buffalo walking down the road like he owned it!
And then he walked right in front of our car...
So of course I roll down the window (like a dummy) to take this picture.  Turns out the buffalo are pretty aggressive.  Who knew?  Oh well, he walked on by and didn't even stud us.
Later that night, we met up with the Bobos at a water park in their hotel.  This is Walker with Walker and Drew.  The two Walkers made friends instantly.

Anderson was a trooper on this trip.  It was a lot of time in the car and our schedules were off, but he still had a smile on his face.  (It helped that Mike and Tyson were tickling him here). ;)

Father's Day Weekend

For Father's Day, we went to the Colorado Rockies game!
Despite the look of boredom on the boys' faces, they had a great time and were begging not to leave.

These picture are in reverse order, but this is from Charlie Friend's birthday party on Saturday.  Walker has a new best friend- Drew Bobo; they were so sweet together!

Happy birthday, Charlie!!
Earlier Saturday morning, Tyson had to be at a golf tournament, so he took Jake and Walker and then they went fishing with the Bobos.  Jake caught a brim, a bass, and 2 catfish.
Walker and Drew Bobo were on a team together and caught 5 catfish together.  It was such a fun weekend!  Hooray for vacation time!!

Down on the Farm...

This is a barn across the street from our house.  Did I mention that we live out in the country?  This view will be blocked, though, once they build a house on the lot.  For now, we enjoy watching the llamas.  That is a llama, right?
I really had to work on the color of this photo so y'all could see the mountains, but isn't it beautiful?  This is the shot from our backyard.  Again, once more houses are built, I'm afraid that our view will be blocked. :(  By the way, how awesome is my neighbors' fire pit?  We're going to have to get one of those!
 Anderson loves our new tub!
That's all for now!  I'll try to get better about taking pictures this weekend. :)

The First Pics From Colorado

These pictures are from Colorado State's football camp that Jake and Walker went to the first 2 days we got here.  The camp was for 3rd-8th graders, but Tyson let the boys go anyway and they had a great time.
This is Jake catching a touchdown pass.

Walker was on the "skins" team and got a few good runs.
Sorry that these pics are blurry. My phone/internet has been acting up and I can't figure out how to make these look better.  This picture is from CSU's Ladies Huddle, which is a ladies' football clinic.  Babysitters were on hand to keep all of the coaches' kids, so I got a little break and enjoyed some time with the other coaches' wives.

Our new house!!  I tried to get a shot of the mountains (to the right), but it's really hard to see in pictures.
It's been so nice to get outside and play without sweating to death!
This is Charlie Friend, Anderson's new friend.  (The Friends were on staff with us at UAB...it's so nice to already have built in friends).
I took this as we came out of my neighborhood.  The views never get old.
Our neighborhood pool.  How awesome is it with a slide and a water park?
A few different shots of our house pre-furniture arrival.

This is my office.  It is possibly my favorite room in the house...other than the kid cave (aka the basement).
