Rub-a-Dub-Dub...Three Summers Boys in a Tub

Guess who made it almost 2 full hours at school Wednesday before mama got the "come pick up your crying baby" phone call?  THIS KID!!  Woo hoo!  He probably could have made it a little longer, but the teachers said he wouldn't let them put him down.  Yep, I know the feeling. :)
 Good thing he's super cute!
The big boys normally take showers instead of baths, but Anderson got some new bath toys, so the big boys wanted to help him break them in.
Anderson wasn't very excited to share his bath tub or his bath toys.  Then again, he was also getting squirted in the head by a certain blond-headed brother.

First Day of School!

 The Three Amigos
This little boy has had a major growth spurt these past few months.  And now he wants to wear athletic clothes like his big brother.  Where did my baby go?
Anderson was giving me a hard time not wanting to be photographed.  I should have known it was just a forewarning for what was ahead of me that day.

"Hold up!  What do you mean I'm going to school today?"
How in the world do I have a 1st grader?

 Jake adores his teacher.
 Walker's newest obsession, his backpack.
 Walker's buddy, Ethan.
One of Walker's teachers, Mrs. Brinkmeyer. (Spelling?)

Happier times of Anderson at school.

We survived the first day of school!  I'll start with oldest and go from there.

Jake started 1st grade and has his same teacher from Kindergarten, Mrs. Winemiller.  I can't begin to describe how excited we were to have Mrs. W again; she emailed us during the summer and asked if we'd like to have her again, and we immediately responded, "YES!"  Jake LOVES Mrs. Winemiller- he doesn't say that about many people. ;)

Jake has been very excited about going back to school.  He did get a little nervous today and asked that I walk him to the bus loop, which is where the Kindergartners and 1st graders meet up with their teacher and walk in.  Once we got to the bus loop and he saw his friends and teacher, he was fine and I was ok to leave.

Jake ended up having a great day.  I can't wait to see what the year holds for him; he has jumped leaps and bounds this past year.  He is such an amazing little boy.

Walker started VPK (Pre-K) at a new school; it is the same school where Jake finished up VPK, so Walker was at least somewhat familiar with it.  It kind of stinks, though, that he'll only be at this school for a year before having to start kindergarten elsewhere, but such is life.  He seems to have handled the transition well.  Luckily, over half of his class are the same kids from his preschool class, so he seems to be very comfortable.  He has two awesome teachers, one of which is a friend of a friend.  We live in a box, I tell ya.

Walker had such a good day.  He got in the car just beaming from ear to ear and couldn't wait to tell me everything.  He even told me all about his friends and their days, so I had to answer a million calls and texts from other moms about "what did Walker say about Ethan's day?  How did he do?  What did he eat?"  I'm not even kidding you, Walker was little mother hen today.  And oh my gosh, he was so cute when he noticed a new boy in the class (well, new to his group of friends)...he went up to the little boy and said "My name is Walker, what's your name?" and then shook the boys' hand.  It was precious.

And last but not least, Anderson started Mother's Day Out two days a week at our church, which is the same place where Jake and Walker have gone to preschool.  He technically missed the cut-off by 4 days, but because the director knows us, she let him start anyways.  Well, the class is definitely geared towards toddlers, not babies...and I learned that the hard way today.  I dropped Anderson off around 9:15, and by 10:15 I was already getting phone calls.  Anderson was crying uncontrollably and needed to be picked up.  Sigh.  My friend, Jeanne, is a teacher there and even tried to calm him down, but he wasn't having it.

I'm at a loss.  I have no idea what to do about Anderson.  Let's be honest, I do this parenting thing by myself almost 24/7 for at least 5 months out of the year.  I desperately need just a tiny bit of time to myself from time to time, and I was really counting on this.  I'm going to take him on Wednesday and try again, but I'm scared they're gonna tell me that he's just too young.  :(

Well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad.

UCF Fan Fest

WR Jackie Williams, who transferred here from UAB.  Anderson loves Jackie and goes to Jackie every time we see him. :)
The boys wanted nothing to do with having their picture taken...can you tell?
These are our neighborhood friends- Jack, Matthew, Jake, Bella, Walker, Nate, Luke, Ella, and Addison.
Jordan and Jaime join the picture

 Jake's cheek tat
We weren't able to spend as much time with Tyson at Fan Fest as we would have liked, but it was so good to see his face.  I think the boys have gotten to spend about an hour total with him since the end of July. :(
Our friends, the Sperrys, came to support Mr. Tyson.
Our boys and the linebackers- Mike Easton, Troy Gray, Willie Mitchell, and Terrance Plummer
While the big boys were getting the players' autographs, Tyson was in charge of Anderson. I adore this picture.
We absolutely love #37, Brandon Alexander, and couldn't be more proud to wear his jersey.
The boys couldn't get enough of their daddy.

St. Simons Beach Trip with the Parentals

Despite Walker's smiles, Anderson was actually destroying/eating his sand castle here, and Walker was not happy.  Ha!
My boys with my cousin, Chris' boys- Carson, Connor, and Spenser.
We celebrated my dad's birthday while in SSI.
 72!!
We couldn't go to SSI without letting the boys play at the pier.
Dad said, "Well, that's one way for your mom to get in her physical therapy."  Ha!

Before my mom was diagnosed with esophageal cancer back in June, we had had this trip to St. Simons planned for a while.  I always look forward to going to the beach with my parents one last time before school starts and while Tyson is at football camp, and I was really afraid we'd have cancel the trip because of mom's health.  Mom rallied, though, and was able to make the trip.
We only got out on the beach once for the whole week were there since mom can't get her feeding tube wet.  We had a lot of fun anyways just hanging out and playing.  I think it did my mom a lot of good to get away and spend some time with the grands; she even was able to eat some real food!  Mom was definitely pretty exhausted by the trip at the end (as was I), but I'm so glad we were able to make it work.

UCF Football Camp

Look at the looks on their faces! "Say what?"  Haha!  That's TP on the left and Pat Bastien, who played for Tyson at UAB, on the right.  I give Tyson those looks a lot. ;)

Ok, I know this is a family oriented blog, but I just have to say that my husband looks pretty hot as a quarterback. ;)

I'm taking a break from my family trip pictures to show y'all these camp pictures of Tyson.  These were taken by our Rivals guy while the boys and I were in Georgia.  Football is in full swing and we're really missing Tyson.  At least we have pictures, right?

August Thomaston Trip

My mom has been pulling some old toys out of the attic lately.  The boys have really enjoyed playing with my old Barbie house and Barbie cars- except they don't play with the actual Barbies, they use dinosaurs, little dog figurines, Legos, and anything that isn't a Barbie.  Hahaha!  It's still funny to walk by my old Barbie house and see a huge T-rex hanging outside on the balcony.
These boys sure do love their PaPa!  Doesn't my mom look amazing?  This was definitely the start of the week; by the end of the week, she looked a lot more exhausted.  These boys will do it to you!

My mom can't hold Anderson because of her feeding tube, and I can tell it just kills her.  :(
My grandmother had to be put in a nursing home over the weekend because my cousin (who helps take care of her) went out of town.  Granddaddy drove over to Thomaston two days in a row, and then we drove to Cochran to see him on our way to the beach.  I loved seeing my Granddaddy so much, but I missed my grandma at the same time.

The boys LOVE playing my parents' piano.  It drives me nuts, but I used to do it, too.

My dad's brother, Uncle Bobby, drove down from Atlanta to see all of us, and he brought soccer goals to play with the kids.  My parents' neighbor, Perrin, came over and joined in on the game to make it kids vs the King brothers.  With a little help from the adults, the kids won.  Walker kicked the winning goal. :)

Anderson watched from inside and was itchin' to come crawl around and play.

I believe this is a goal that dad kicked that Jake tried to block.  Dad got the goal.

 Kids win!
This is my Granddaddy's brother, Uncle Wallace, and my Granddaddy.  My Granddaddy sure loves his brothers.
The rest of the crew plus Aunt Vivian joined in.
Our last visitor of the day was my friend Jill and her daughter Ansley.  It had been way too long since I've seen them.  Jill is always so good about getting us together, and this time, she even made a special trip to Thomaston to come see us.  I sure love that girl!

We stayed in Thomaston for a few days and then headed to St. Simons for some fun in the sun.  On our way out of town, we stopped by this old covered bridge for some pictures.

Like I said earlier, we stopped through Cochran on our way to St. Simons to see my Granddaddy.  We miss you already, Granddaddy!

We just got the internet up and running at my parents' condo in St. Simons, so I am having to back track a little on this post.  Excuse me if I seem a little scattter-brained. ;)

Tyson started football camp on July 31st, so the boys and I hit the road to Thomaston to visit my parents one last time before school starts.  It was my first time driving from Orlando to Thomaston by myself, and surprisingly, the trip went really well.  We stopped for a little bit in Tifton to see my sis and her kiddos and stretch our legs, and then we hit the road.  Other than that stop, we only had to stop one other time out of the whole 7 hours in the car.  Whew!  7 hours with just me and my 10 month old, 4 year, and 6 year old- I feel like I deserve a trophy for that!

Anyways, once we got to Thomaston, we did a lot of eating, playing with neighbors, and destroying my parents house.  Ha!  We also had lots of visitors (as photographed above) and my dad took the boys fishing.  Jake told me the night before we left for the beach that he "has had the best time these last few days."  We really did have so much fun.  Poor mom was starting to wear down, but she pushed through so we could all go to the beach.  Ok, more on the beach next. :)
