Thanksgiving in Georgia!

 My parents rented this awesome inflatable for all the kids to play on.  It was a hit to say the least.

Jake, Walker, and I just got back from a trip to Thomaston, Ga to see my family for Thanksgiving.  I didn't take Anderson because I didn't think I could handle all three by myself.  Ha!  Tyson's mom offered to come stay with Anderson so that I could go see my mama, and I jumped at the opportunity.  Thank you, Mary Ann!

I definitely missed Tyson and Anderson, but I really enjoyed this visit with my parents.  My mom was better than I've seen her in a while.  We spent the day before Thanksgiving grocery shopping and prepping for the next day's lunch with the family.  We really enjoyed that 1 on 1 time while my dad entertained the boys.  

We also missed my sister and her family.  Amy's littlest one, Cam, was diagnosed with the flu on Tuesday and the doctor didn't want Cam around my mom.  It definitely made for a quiet Thanksgiving without Amy and her kiddos around.

It was a quick and exhausting trip, but I'm so thankful we got to go see my family...and enjoy some warmer weather for a change! Ha!

Fall Pictures

My neighbor, Sarah, took these pictures a few weeks ago at a dude ranch down the road from us right before the leaves had fallen.  Jake kept wanting to jump over the fence, Walker kept playing in the dirt, and Anderson kept mooing at the cows.  I am shocked Sarah was even able to get 1 good picture with all that going on!  Hahaha!

Happy early Thanksgiving!  Mary Ann flew into town to keep Anderson, and Jake, Walker, and I are flying out to Georgia in the morning to spend Thanksgiving with my family.  I am so excited!  I'm going to miss my little bit, though, and Tyson, who will be in California Friday and Saturday. This is my second Thanksgiving without him. :(

The Injury Report

Yep, this happened.  Specifically, this happened to Jake with about 2 minutes left to go in the 4th quarter of the CSU game this past Saturday.  We had gone into the Ram Room (the recruiting room) for the 4th quarter to escape the cold, and Jake decided to play football in the small room with the other coaches' kids while I packed up to leave.  The helicopter mom that I am saw it happening and was turning around to get on to Jake when BAM!  He ran full speed into the edge of the bar.  Jake immediately started yelling and was gushing blood like crazy.  I had Anderson's little hat in my hand, so I immediately placed on Jake's head and put pressure on the wound, but I knew just looking at it that it would need stitches.  I asked the other coaches' wives to go get the team doc, and I guess one of the stadium workers ran and got the medics, too.  Before I knew it, the room was packed with EMTs, doctors, policemen, and coaches' wives.  Hahaha!  I was like, "y'all, he just needs stitches...he'll be fine!"  I guess the amount of blood had everyone freaked out.  Anyways, the EMTs wanted to take him by ambulance to the ER to be evaluated, but the team doc agreed to stitch Jake up there at the stadium.  The EMTs wrapped Jake's head up like a mummy and rolled him by gurney to the edge of the stairs, and I carried him (through the crowd) down to the locker room where they ended up putting about 7 stitches in his forehead and glue under his eye.  One of Jake's favorite players, Trent Matthews, stayed in there with Tyson to help calm Jake down while they stitched him up; I think Jake thought that was pretty cool.  Hahaha!  All is fine now, but it sure made for a very dramatic Saturday night.

The First Snow!!

 Last Friday, Nov. 6th, we got our first snow flurries.  Anderson was so cute trying to catch them!

 The next day, the other coaches' wives and I made the trip to Wyoming to watch our Rams play.  The game was supposed to be in the low 30's with "feels like" temp of 4 degrees, but luckily the sun came out and the game was only in the low 40's.  It was still pretty chilly for this Southern girl!!

 While Mama was in Wyoming, Jake and Walker started indoor baseball.  It's a very short season, but it gives the boys something to do and keeps them active in the frozen tundra.  This is Walker with his friends Tripp and Bode.

 We had our first real snow this past Wednesday, Nov. 11.  We "only" got about 2 inches, but the Summers boys were in heaven!  They woke up around 6:15 am and couldn't get out the door fast enough!  We were definitely the only ones crazy enough to be outside playing in it.  Hahaha!  

 Have I mentioned how hard it is to send kids to school when it's snowing?  They have to have their snow jackets, snow pants, gloves, hats, snow boots, and a change of shoes.  It was quite the production to get them to the bus on time! Plus, Anderson and I have to get geared up to walk them to the bus!  Lordy!!  Luckily, though, I didn't have to shovel my driveway and the sidewalk this time since the snow was supposed to melt before noon.  My time is coming, though,  We're supposed to get 20 inches on Monday!!  Whew!  Pray for me!

 The boys still go out to the playground twice a day even if it's snowing; they have a no "snowball" rule, though, at the school.  Hahaha! They're only allowed to build snowmen and forts and make snow angels at school.  Needless to say, I let them get their snowball fight over with before sending them off.

Halloween Day

 Anderson coincidentally tripped as Jake Bobo got brought down. It kind of looks like Anderson tackled Jake.  Ha!

 The Kids Zone, which is conveniently located behind our tailgate, had trick or treating for the kids.  My boys refused to dress up, though, and just took some of the girls' candy.  Hahaha!

 After the game, we came home to trick or treat with Chase from Paw Patrol, the Gold Power Ranger, and Anakin Skywalker.

 This was the first year since I was pregnant with Jake that Tyson could be home the whole night (from start to finish) of Halloween.  It was awesome! I wish he could be here every Halloween.

 How precious is this that Jake held Anderson's hand to help him trick or treat?  It only took a few houses, though, and Anderson knew exactly what to do and was good to go.  His "twick tweet" scored him LOTS of candy.  It was precious!

And sweet Walker took his time at each door making sure he didn't get any candy with peanuts in it.  Love.
