Happy Thanksgiving!

My parents and Jake and Anderson waiting on the cousins to arrive!
 Jace is here!!

My granddaddy made the trip down.  He had surgery a week ago, and my grandmother is having to stay in a nursing home while he recovers. :(

Is it Thanksgiving yet?

Domenic Spencer, Terrance Plummer (TP), Brandon Alexander came and hung out with us Saturday.  Jake was in heaven!
I'll give 1 guess as to which boy colored these puppets...
 ...and these.
Tyson cheated and used Anderson as his puppet.  My husband usually isn't a very funny person, but I was rolling on the floor laughing.  He won.

Is it Thanksgiving yet?  I am so ready for my family to be here!  And I am so ready for the boys to have some entertainment besides me!  I mean for crying out loud, a puppet show was the highlight of our weekend.  Ha!

Turkey Day for Jake

My pilgrim
 My Indian

First of all, Walker is doing very well after his adenoidectomy this morning.  The doctor said Walker's adenoids weren't as "huge" as he had thought and were only moderately enlarged, but they were filled with pus.  He seems to think that Walker will be much better having his adenoids out.

So, it was kind of a crazy day for us today.  Tyson and I got Walker up and headed to the surgery center for his 0630 surgery time.  Tyson had to be at work for a meeting at 7:45 on the other side of town, so he took off after they took Walker back.  Walker and I were out of there fairly quickly, and we got home in time to relieve my mom (who is in town early for Thanksgiving to help me with Walker's surgery) from Anderson duty.  Mom then turned around and went to eat Thanksgiving lunch with Jake at school and stayed for a performance by Jake's class.  Luckily, with it being game day, Tyson had about an hour free around lunch and was able to go eat with Jake as well and run home and check on Walker for a bit.  And then the rest of the day was our normal chaos as we prepared for a 7:30 pm kickoff by our Knights!  As I type this, UCF is beating Rutgers 28-14 with 8:18 to go in the 3rd.  Go Knights!!

Oh, and here is a cute story.  When Tyson and I woke Walker up this morning to leave for the surgery, Tyson asked him, "are you ready for your operation?"  Walker asked, "What operwation?"  Hahaha!  It was so cute!  As hard as I worked to prepare him yesterday, he had no clue what was going on today.  Sweet boy.

Good Bye Adenoids for Walker!

Good bye tonsils adenoids! The book from Jake's T&A (click here) we read says "Good bye tonsils," so I stuck with that so as to not confuse Walker further.
The only candle I could find was the number 2, so we just went with it. ;)  I told Walker it's because he has 2 tonsils.  I'm pretty sure I've confused the kid for life.

 Super Walker
Super brothers!

Walker is getting his adenoids taken out tomorrow morning.  I've been telling his pediatrician and allergist since we moved here that he needs his adenoids out, but they kept brushing me off. Poor baby can't breathe through his nose and if he does, it's very noisy.  He also speaks very nasally, snores, suffers from sinus symptoms, and on and on.  Well, this mama finally got tired of it and saw an ENT (my ENT actually) anyways.  And sure enough, the ENT said Walker's adenoids were "huge."  He thinks Walker's tonsils are fine, so as of right now, just the adenoids are coming out.  The ENT also thinks this will help Walker's speech (which can be hard to understand at times) and hearing.  I'm just so thankful that Walker is finally getting the help he needs!  Anyways, prayers would be appreciated for my sweet boy!  Thanks!

While Tyson was in Philly...

While Tyson was in Philly...

The boys figured out how to spell out letters with their bodies.  UCF!
 The boys spooned.
We went to church.
And they each took turns holding the baby.
Anderson hung out in the bumbo.
And he wondered where his Daddy was.
And he was so excited to hear that the Knights won!

Temple

Umm, how ridiculous is this catch by J.J. Whorton?  Mad skills right there!
Those are some serious faces right there!!
Tyson congratulating Brandon Alexander after his interception.
Our kicker, Moffitt, being hoisted up after kicking the winning field goal with 2 seconds left to go in the game.
My sentiments exactly, TP. God definitely had his hand in this game!

Well, UCF pulled off a win against Temple this week 39-36.  To be honest, I don't even know where we rank in the polls this week or what our record is.  I am so over football at this point that it's ridiculous.  I don't know if it's these close, heart-attack inducing games that my team keeps playing or if these crazy, panic-attack inducing kids that I'm raising, but I'm OVER IT!  Can we just go to the Sugar Bowl now or what? ;)  Go Knights!

Jake's Boosterthon Fun Run

Even though they have fake smiles here, the boys begged me to take their pictures before the Fun Run.  They were thrilled to be able to wear long sleeves and long pants, FINALLY!  It was a chilly 73 degrees here in Florida this morning.  Ha!
Sweet baby digging his new hat.
I can't tell you how many kids kept falling, Jake included.  This kid's crash didn't slow Jake down for one second!
Poor kid, he runs like his mama- severely bow legged and pigeon-toed.  Bless his heart.
One of Jake's crashes.  I think he thought he was playing football and tackled a few kids.
Showing me that he completed his laps.
**These pics are so out of order.  Sorry!

 High-fiving his brother.

Notice how Jake is slightly embarrassed having to give Walker five.
Showing off his laps to his friends.

 Walker was "FWEEZING!!"
This little blond beside Jake is his "girlfriend," Sophie.
Jake telling Daniel to eat his dust!

Jake's school had their Boosterthon Fun Run this morning.  First of all, I got there right as they are starting, and I see Jake running around in the opposite direction of everyone else thinking he is playing a game of tag (and knocking kids down) instead of walking in a circle.  I was mortified!  He got in trouble by the same teacher twice before he realized what he was supposed to be doing.  He better be glad he was at school and that we were in front of people because I wanted nothing more than to snatch him up and sit him out!  Ha!  Anyways, he quickly realized that his friends were running and taking this thing seriously, so the race began.

Let me back up by saying that I feel like such a rookie mom at this whole Kindergarten/public school thing; sometimes, I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing!  You see, the grandparents and I pledged Jake $1 per lap, and they said that most kids usually do about 30-35 laps.  Well, I swear they base that pledge on the sweet little girls that walk the lap holding hands with their friends.  My child must have run at least 50 laps!  I was starting to sweat for a while about all the money the grandparents and I were about to have to cough up!  Ha!  One of my friends eventually told me that $35 is the maximum they make you pay, and most parents usually never pledge that much ($1).  Good to know...now.

Anyways, the Fun Run was a lot of fun...after Jake figured out what he was supposed to be doing.  Sigh.  He might not mind very well or pay attention, but at least the kid can run.  That'll get you further in life, right? ;)
