South Carolina Game

Merritt and I pre-sweaty rainy mess.
Uncle Ward, Aunt Ann, and Tyson
The coach and I (excuse my crazy hair)

Yesterday, UCF hosted the Gamecocks of South Carolina, and we lost 28-25. :(  It was definitely one of the hardest losses I've experienced in a long time.  We were so close!!

Anyways, I was very fortunate to be able to go to the game WITHOUT KIDS!!!   I hired a babysitter to help my mom with the big boys so she could focus on taking care of Anderson.  It was such a nice break...boy did I need that after Anderson decided to get up every 2 hours the night before!  Whew!

We're proud of you, Tyson!  You looked so cute signaling!  Next up, we play at Memphis this Saturday at 4:30 on ESPN3.  Go Knights!

3 Weeks Old!

This sweet boy was 3 weeks old last Wednesday, and in a few days, he turns a whole month old!  Where has the time gone?

Actually, I can tell you where some of the time has gone...it has been spent holding this spoiled rotten youngin'!  He will NOT let us put him down!  It has actually gotten a little better this week as he will sit for just a little bit in the bouncy seat...not long enough, you know, for me to take a long shower or eat a whole meal, but such is life.  I know this won't last much longer. ;)  The problem got to be night time, though, since he'd only sleep with one of us holding him.  I finally got desperate enough and went out and bought a real snuggly swing (remember our swing from the boys broke) for him to sleep in at night, and it worked!!  He won't sleep in it during the day, but we'll take what we can get. ;)

Anderson is super sweet.  He only cries when he wants to be held, and he just kinda squirms to let you know he's hungry.  Speaking of hungry, this kid can EAT!  I knew this was going to be the case in the hospital and had to start supplementing him right away.  I told the doctor that I feel silly supplementing him since he's so big already, but like the doc said, "He's a big boy...he's gotta eat!"

As far as sleep goes, this child is not going to miss a feed- he eats every 2-3 hours at night but has had random spurts of going 4 hours or so in between.  At least he's pretty easy to get back to sleep after eating, however, those 2 and 3 hour deals at night are EXHAUSTING!

What else?  He is about to move out of size 1 diapers and is already out of most of his 0-3 month clothes.  I have no idea how much he weighs, but judging by the change in sizes, I'd say it was a lot for a 3 week old.   I've actually caught myself calling him "chubbs" lately, which I need to stop because that is a terrible nickname!  Ha!

Our Bye Weekend!

Jake LOVES his little brother.  It is the cutest thing.
Sweet boy is 2.5 weeks old here.

Our first pic as a family of 5!

 My boys!!

Praise the Lord for a bye weekend!!  Tyson got to come home last night around 6:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. today.  He did have to go out of town recruiting Monday and Tuesday, but it was awesome to have him home so much this weekend.

I don't know if it was the best time to do this, but we actually had a film crew from UCF Football in our house tonight to film our family at supper.  It was a little chaotic at times, however, they were warned ahead of time that that might happen with a 5 and 3 year old and a 2 week old.  Hopefully, they got what they needed for Tyson's little documentary and we didn't look like the Orlando version of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo!"  Ha!

1 and 2 Weeks Old

 1 week old
2 weeks old

This past Wednesday, Anderson turned 2 weeks old.  I had to take him to the doctor on Thursday, and our little chunky monkey weighs 10 lbs!!  He had gotten down to 8 lbs 8 oz at the hospital and had not gained it back by the Monday after we had been discharged.  I would say that he's been working hard since then to gain a little weight, huh?

The other news from the doctor's appointment is that the doctor confirmed that the lump (it is on the back right oh his head and isn't visible in pictures) on Anderson's head is a cephalohematoma caused from him being stuck in the birth canal.  My OB-GYN said it was a fatty tumor and the hospital pediatrician said it was from the vacuum they used during delivery.  Anyways, it's been very frustrating getting all of these differing opinions.

And lastly, Anderson's tear ducts are blocked so we are constantly massaging his little tear ducts and wiping goop from his little eyes.  So pitiful.

But all in all, I've got another healthy little boy!  Praise the Lord!

Throwback Thursday: 7th Grade Ball

 Tyson and I
Gin, Grant, Molly, me, and Tyson

I posted this on facebook today, but I wanted to post it on here, too, just in case something every happens to the original copies of these pictures.

Yes, Tyson was my date to the 7th grade ball.  It was 1993 and we went to Matt Wilson Middle School in Tifton, Georgia.  I wish I could say I had the best time at the ball and that this was the beginning of our love story, but it was quite the opposite.  You see, I had a little dress mishap that ended up in me wearing this doily of a dress.  I had originally planned on wearing this hot little blue number that was my older sister's, however, in a pre-boys arriving excitement, I jumped up off the toilet, did a little spread eagle number, and ripped the dress right up the back.  I was devastated.  I cried my eyes out in the bathroom for a good 30 minutes...and this floral number was the best thing my mom could come up with in the meantime.  My night was ruined after that.  I spent most of my night crying in the bathroom at the dance surrounded by my good girl friends; from what I hear, I ruined everyone else's night, too.  And this was the beginning of the end of mine and Tyson's friendship.  After this dance (for several reasons in addition to my hormonal response to the dress), we literally despised each other until we reunited in 2005.  I hate that this night and our friendship turned out the way it did, but then again, if it had not, who knows where we'd be today.  I guess I need to be thanking God for ripping that little blue dress. ;)

Penn State Game

I asked Walker what he thought his daddy was doing here, and he said, "I think his player said a bad word and daddy is getting on to him." Hahaha!
This player behind Tyson is the one who almost ran over Walker at spring practice.  His quick hands and feet not only saved my Walker from being squished to death, but they also helped win us this game. Love him. :)
Meanwhile, back home in Orlando, the Summers boys were dressed and ready for the game.
 Go Daddy!

UCF beat Penn State 34-31 this past weekend!!  Some are saying this was the biggest regular season win in school history.  Either way, it was an exciting game!  We are so proud of Tyson and the Knights.

We have a bye week this week and then we host South Carolina on the 28th at noon.  That should be an exciting game, too! :)  It will be a scorcher, but I am itching to go to the game.  We'll see. ;)

Bath Time!

The 3 Amigos

 Now...
And then.
Walker, Anderson, and Jake

Ok, so I finally found a picture of Jake that I could use for comparison.  The picture was taken with our old point and shoot, so it isn't as good of quality and I can't figure out how to straighten it, but y'all get the point.  There are definitely a lot of similarities between the three.  What do y'all think?
