Tropical Storm Isaac

This is how the boys and I passed the time during the storms from Isaac- indoor bounce house super-hero style.  In case you can't tell, Jake was Batman, Walker was "Supe-man," and I was Spiderman from behind the camera. :)

Daddy's Boys

I had a great blog typed up and decided not to post it.  I really want to keep it real on here, but I don't want to come across as complaining or unappreciative..because I'm not.  Just know that these two sweet boys are really struggling so far with football season and not having their Daddy around.  If you think about it, could you please remember them in your prayers?  Thanks!

First Day of School

First day of school- Walker (2k) and Jake (Pre-K)
Sorry for the blurry pictures! It was so humid that morning that my camera kept fogging up, but I had to post these anyways.
I had some cute new clothes picked out for the boys, but in true Summers' boys fashion, they refused to wear them and dressed themselves.  Whatever.  Boys!!!

The boys had their first day of school last Monday, August 21st.  Walker started 2k at our church and Jake started Pre-K at a nearby daycare.

Florida has a pre-k program (called VPK) that is 15 hours long a week and lasts for the whole school year.  It's a little different how it works- VPK is only offered in a few elementary schools around here (not the one we are zoned for) but is mainly offered through daycare centers.  And each daycare offers different days and times of VPK, so you pretty much pick the school that fits your schedule.

I'm telling you all this because I had originally signed Jake up at this great place with a not so great VPK schedule, and then 2 weeks before school started, I switched Jake to a not as great of a place with a great VPK schedule (it matches Walker's schedule).  Ugh!  And now I'm having some serious mom guilt because I don't care for his teacher and I don't feel like he's in a very good environment for him.  I should've gone with the great place and just dealt with the schedule!  See what I mean?  I feel like the worst mom ever!

Anyways, that's all probably too much for this blog, but I'm just keeping it real.  On a positive note, Jake is happy with his new school and has made lots of new friends.  He already had 2 friends in class from his old school, so he felt comfortable from the get-go.  He actually got a note sent home the first day that he was very "social," which is hilarious to me because he's usually pretty shy and introverted.  Ha!

And not to leave out sweet Walker, but he is doing great, too.  He is actually in the classroom that he is in for church, so he was pretty comfortable, too.  He LOVES his new teachers and has several of his friends in his class from last year.

UCF Fan Fest

 My sweet little family. :)
These boys were thrilled to see their Daddy!  I think by this point they had only seen Tyson for about 30 minutes in 3 weeks. :(  Miss him!
Jake is obsessed with Knightro (like he is with all mascots).  Walker, on the other hand, had a death grip on us whenever Knightro was in sight.
Coach O'Leary and Jake.  Walker was having some attachment issues at Fan Fest (oh the joys of Daddy being gone during football season), and he had a come-undone when Coach O'Leary tried to hold him for this picture.  Ha!
Our beautiful stadium! I'm so ready to see this thing in action!
My sweet boys...before they decided to run away from their mama and send me on a wild goose chase through the stadium.  Not fun in the triple digit heat!  Ha!

T-Ball and Trophies!

 The trophy presentation...
 There's my boy!

Jake was so proud of his trophy that he took it to the grocery store, carried it around the house, and even tried to take it to UCF's Fan Fest to show his Daddy!  Ha!
We LOVE Coach Marcus!

Disney with Friends

Walker, Sean, Jake, and Ryan

Last week, we went the Magic Kingdom with the Wensyels.  I wasn't very keen on the idea of taking the boys by myself just yet...in this heat...during Walker's nap time...with the threat of afternoon thunderstorms looming over us.  I'm glad we did, though, it was by far one of mine and the boys' favorite trips to Disney.

We got to ride a ton more rides that day than we usually do because we never had to wait in line.  You see, Ryan was born very prematurely and has some disabilities because of it, so he has a handicap pass that gets him in and out of rides quickly.  I told Angie we would gladly tag along to Disney anytime with them. :)
