SSI: My Grandparents!

Love that my grandparents are holding hands here. :)

 Tyson says I'm a "Granddaddy's girl." :)

The other day, my grandparents drove over to St. Simons to visit us, and it was perfect because I've been missing them so much lately.  My grandmother, who suffers from Alzheimer's, gave us a little scare a few weeks ago, and I couldn't get to her to see her.  Luckily, she pulled through and I got to spend some time with her that day.  I love my grandparents soooo much, and it breaks my heart to see them getting old.  Well, according to my 85 year old granddaddy, he's got about 10 more years on him before he's "old." :) Love them.

SSI: My Parents!

This trip wouldn't have been possible without my awesome parents, so I thought they deserved their own post.  Thanks, Mom and Dad!  We love y'all!
I love the way Walker is looking at my mom!
I have never seen so many pelicans on the pier before, and they were so aggressive!!
Such a pretty view.  I sure wish Tyson could be here with us to see it!

SSI Day 1

 Fake smile #1...
 ...and fake smile #2!

Walker was fearless at the beach!
 RACE!!
Jake enjoyed "surfing" sans a surfboard...or waves...or much water.  Ha!

 Sand in your eyes much?
Look!!  Jake found a dinosaur bone! :)  It broke my heart to have to tell him that it was just a dead crab.  Ha!

Spring Festival

We had such a fun weekend this past weekend!  Saturday, the boys and I went to our first birthday party in Orlando.  Our new friend, Sean, celebrated his 6th birthday with a party at his house complete with a bounce house and all!  Sean and his brother, Ryan, are in Jake's karate class and live right down the street from us, and their dad is a head high school football coach in the area.  We really like their family and have made friends quickly with them.  I wish I had pictures from the party, but I didn't want my first impression to be "the crazy lady with the camera" to our new friends.  Ha!

Saturday night, Tyson got one of his secretaries to babysit and we had a datenight.  There is a fun little community next to us that has cute little shops and restaurants and we visit it frequently for datenight.  Plus, several of the other football coaches live in the area, so they have ended up joining us at the end of the night...too much fun!

On Sunday, our neighborhood had a spring festival that the four of us went to.  There were bounce houses, pony rides, fair-type booths, and other fun activities for the kids.  As you can tell from the pictures above, my boys LOVED the pony rides.  Oh, and excuse the bathing suits...we went straight home and hit the pool.

Such a fun weekend!  Now, the boys and I are in St. Simons with my parents at their condo, so the fun continues.  I'm already working on a post tomorrow, so check back!

Dinosaur World

 Dinosaur World

 Jake's favorite dinosaur- a brachiosaurus

 Stegosaurus

 Walker's favorite- T Rex

Not sure what kind of dinosaur this is, but both boys were actually looking at the camera at the same time, so I had to include it. :)
 Triceratops
Spinosaurus

Jake's latest fascination: dinosaurs!  It all started with a "Dino Dan" DVD I got him for our ride down to Orlando, and he's been obsessed ever since.  Well, when I saw that "Dinosaur World" was close to us, I knew we had to go.  It was the best decision I've made (well, Tyson helped, too) in a long time!  Jake said he like Dinosaur World as much as Disney World.  Ha!

Walker loved Dinosaur World, too!  He loved it so much that he ran around yelling "T Rex" constantly, no matter what the dinosaur was.  It was super cute the first 20 times, but by the end of the day, Tyson, Jake, and I were about tired of hearing "T Rex."  Jake finally looked at Walker and said, "Walker, not all dinosaurs are T. Rex's!!"  Hahaha!  It was super cute, though, looking back.

Anyways, enjoy the pictures from Dinosaur World!  I took a lot of pictures, but they all kind of looked the same, so I just included the pics of Jake and Walker's favorite dinosaurs.

Gatorland!

This is in the breeding marsh. I can't even explain how close we were to this gator.
This one is a retired wrestler...he's 13.5 ft long.

No joke...the gator almost got this man's hand!
This was almost as cool as "Swamp People."

My sweet boy!

Bahaha...Jake got a hold of my camera!

My future gator wrestler!

My 2 sweet boys...well, sometimes.

Walker finally got brave enough to get near the fake alligator! It only took 10 minutes to get him to do this, though! Ha!

Yesterday, I took the boys to Gatorland. We had a good time, but by the end of the day, the boys were like, "oh...another alligator." Ha! It was really cool, though, seeing the Jumperoo show where the men fed the gators right in front of us. There was a Gator Wrestlin' show that I really wanted to see, but we didn't stick around long enough to see it. Turns out, Walker was scared to death of the gators and was getting really cranky towards the end.

The other thing Jake really liked, other than the Jumperoo show, was this zip-line that they had above us. People were literally zip-lining above the alligators...so cool.

My favorite part and my least favorite part (does that make sense?) was the breeding marsh. It was my favorite part because we got to see the alligators in their natural habitat and we were really up-close to them. In fact, all that separated us and the gators was a wooden rail that only went about waist-high, which is why it was also my least favorite part. I was scared to death the WHOLE time; I could just see one of the boys falling in and be eaten by a gator before I could get to them...and then I would be eaten...and then the lone child would jump in after me and be eaten, too. No joke, I was shaking the whole time, which is probably why Walker was scared to death by the end. Ha! It was a very educational moment, though, for Jake, so I wanted him to see it. Thank the Lord, though, that no one fell in and that we all survived. :)
