Chalybe Fest at Disney World!

Jake and Walker at the Animal Kingdom

 The househusbands of Hoover
 Jake and Ryan Madden

Kaitlyn Madden, Walker, Jake, Ryan Madden, Brantley Turner, Bricen Turner, and Anderson and Becklynn Turner in the chair.  Colin Madden wasn't down with the picture taking.
Bahaha!  Becklynn kept smacking Anderson in the face.  I didn't realize it til all the picture taking was over.  Sweet boy just sat there and took it. ;)
Yikes.  I look disgusting, but I had to get a pic with my Bham besties, Ginger and Ashley.  I couldn't have survived Birmingham and being a new mom without these girls.

Today, we met up with our old Birmingham neighbors, the Maddens and the Turners, at Disney World.  The Turners were in town for Spring break, so we decided to have a Chalybe Fest (that's what we used to call our backyard get-togethers) at the Polynesian Resort.  It was so much fun and had been WAY TOO LONG since we have all been together.  I'll tell you what, though, it was like there had been no time lost at all between us- we just picked right up where we left off.  I sure miss these girls, their kiddos, and their husbands!

G-Mama Comes to Visit

Walker with his best friend, Dalton.
G-mama with Walker before his soccer game.

Long time, no post.  The Summers (well, the kids and I) have all had the stomach bug this week.  It all started Tuesday with Anderson, and by Thursday, Jake, Walker, and I were all down for the count.  I can't begin to explain how bad the stomach bug was- I'm pretty sure I thought I saw a white light, though.  In fact, it got so bad that I even had to call Tyson to come home and take care of Anderson so I could deal with myself and the two sick boys.  And let me just say this- there are no sick days in college football...or at least not for George O'Leary's coaches.  THAT is how bad it was.  Hahahaha!  I'm so glad we survived and made it out from the stomach bug alive. ;)

Luckily, Tyson's mom was scheduled for a visit this weekend, so she got here Thursday and took over for Tyson so he could go back to work.  Kudos to Mary Ann for coming here even when she knew she was walking into the stomach bug!  Once we were better, though, she got to see Walker play soccer, Jake play baseball, and Anderson sit up and crawl! :)

Happy Easter!

I can't get over the preciousness of this picture.  Love my 3 boys!
This was hilarious- I was about to snap the picture and Anderson threw his hand back and smacked Jake in the face.  The big boys couldn't stop laughing.
The obligatory family picture.

Happy Easter!  We're about to head to a get together with friends, but I wanted to go ahead and post this cuteness from this morning.  I hope everyone has a great Easter!!

Easter Weekend

The big boys got in the pool!

Anderson just enjoyed watching from the sidelines. ;)

  We dyed Easter eggs!
And some of us dressed up like the Easter bunny.

A Few Firsts For Anderson

Low and behold I write that post on Anderson not crawling and what does he do?  Starts crawling!  Ha!  It's the funniest thing- apparently if you put a baby down on carpet and move his brothers from out of his face, he'll crawl for you!  Now, it's not a pretty crawl or a fast crawl, but he gets where he needs to go...eventually ;)

Anderson also said, "Mama" for the first time this past week.  It only took 3 kids, but FINALLY, one of them said "mama" first.  (Jake said "bye bye" and Walker said "hey" first).  Jake is bound and determined to teach Anderson to say "da da," so we'll see what he says next.  At least we know who his #1 is. ;)

Anderson also started eating puffs and yogurt melts this weeks and seems to enjoy feeding himself.  Again, if I can get his brothers to stop a) eating his puffs or b) feeding it to him, we'd be a lot more successful.

What else?  Oh yeah, he has started crinkling his nose like in the picture above.  It's pretty cute but sure can be aggravating when I'm trying to take pictures.  The big boys think it's hilarious, which only makes Anderson do it more.

Have a great weekend and a Happy Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt

Anderson's first Easter egg hunt!  He loved chewing on the eggs. :)
 Love these 3!

Walker insisted Tyson come with him...he was afraid of getting lost. :(
Jake and his 1st grade friends, Chase and Nate.  This was the only picture I could get of Jake; as soon as they said "go," Jake was off and was too quick for my camera. ;)

These are out of order, but this is me and my 3 guys at soccer.
 Granddad lovin' on the mascot.

This weekend goes down as one of the craziest weekends of my life!  It all started Friday after school with some house shopping.  You see, Tyson and I have been debating on buying a house down here in Orlando or at least renting a new house; I've never been crazy about this house we're in now and it's just not working for our family of 5.  So, for the second weekend in a row, we went and looked at houses.  This time, however, I was on my own with all 3 children!!  (My mom and dad were supposed to go with me but they got stuck in traffic and didn't make it in time).  As you can imagine, looking at houses with 3 boys in tow was no easy task...I don't know what I was thinking.

We woke up Saturday morning and headed straight to Walker's soccer game.  Unfortunately, I accidentally gave the kids Benadryl instead of Zyrtec, and Walker was a walking zombie on the soccer field.  Hahaha!  After the soccer game, I dropped my parents off at home with Jake and Anderson so that I could take Walker to his friend's birthday party.  We stayed at the party for about an hour and then booked it back home to pick up everyone to go to Tyson's spring football game.  I wish we could've stayed longer because the defense was killing it, but we only got to stay for about an hour before having to go to Jake's baseball game.  Luckily, the Benadryl had worn off and was out of everyone's system by the baseball game, and Jake had an amazing game and showed off for my parents. ;)  And then finally, our craziness was over!  We went to our favorite local pizza place and met up with Tyson for a little celebration, and then Tyson and I met up with friends later that night for more celebrating.  We all survived Tyson's first spring ball as DC!  Woo hoo!

Walker's 4th Birthday!

At home for birthday cake and presents!

Yesterday was Walker's 4th birthday!  We had a super busy day, but it was all about Walker and he loved it.

We started the day at Davis' Bakery, which is one of Walker's favorite places to eat for breakfast.  He and I frequented the bakery a lot while I was pregnant, so the employees know him by name and sang him happy birthday.  It was so sweet!  Next, we met up with Walker's best friend, Dalton, his sister Brooke, and their friend Emily at Chuck E. Cheese for some birthday fun.  We stayed there a few hours until Anderson couldn't take it anymore, and then we came home and rested before having start the chaotic part of our day- pick Jake up from school, start homework, run out the door to soccer practice, and then go to Walker's school for his art festival (which seemed more like a carnival than anything).  With all of Walker's friends from school at the art festival and all of them wishing him happy birthday, I think Walker thought this festival was actually a party for him or something. Hahaha!  It was definitely better than any birthday party that I could have planned! ;)

Once we got home from the art festival, we gave Walker his presents and let him have some more cake.  I'm pretty sure the kid had had enough sugar for one day, but he managed to eat a few bites of cake. ;)

Happy birthday, Walker!
