Tifton!!

 My precious niece, Gracie.
 Walker LOVED the "baby"...
 ...maybe a little too much.
Gracie wasn't the only one getting a little lovin' this weekend, so was my dad...by the dog.

My nephew, Jace.
Despite the frowns, Jace and Walker had so much fun together...so much fun that they didn't want to take pictures!
See what fun they were having playing with the cups?
Until...
 ...Walker grabbed all the cups...
...but they quickly got over it and made up...
 ...and snuggled together. :)
My grandparents with 4 of their 9 great-grandchildren.
Jake was right on with his fake smile that day...even with a wiggly chihuahua in his arms and Darth Vader on his head. :)
 Bahaha!

The boys and I drove up to Tifton this past weekend and met Tyson, who was in South Georgia recruiting, and our families for a little weekend get-together.  Tyson's best friend, Zach, is getting married in June and was being thrown a wedding shower in Tifton this weekend, so we definitely wanted to be there for all that.

We got to spend lots of time with my sister and her kids and even my parents and grandparents, who drove down to see us.  We also got to love on Ellie and Emma Bowers since they were in town staying with E.W. and Mrs. Pendy while Worth and Ashley were away, and let me tell you- those little girls have my husband wrapped around their little fingers.  They are oh so sweet...I wish I could've gotten a picture.  :(  I also managed to forget to snap a single picture at the wedding shower, but take my word for it...WE HAD A BLAST!  I'm so glad we were able to go...I just love "Uncle Zach" and the rest of the Ellis crew.

What a fun little trip we made to Tifton!  We definitely didn't get to see quite as many people as we would've liked, but since Tifton is only 4 hours away, we will just have to come back soon!  So much fun!

2 Year Check-up

Before you get the wrong idea, Walker is not potty-trained, potty-training, or anything close to the sort.  The boy just LOVES wearing Jake's Diego big-boy underwear.  Ha!

Anyways, Walker had his 2 year check-up last week, and I forgot to blog about it.  As you know, I like keeping this as a record, so here you go.  Our little peanut weighed 28.5 lbs (50-75%) and was "34 7/8" inches tall (50-75%).  I'm really confused about the height, though; at Walker's 18 month check-up, they measured him at 35 inches tall.  Now, Walker's 18 month height was measured by laying him down on the table and Walker's 2 year height was measured by standing him against a ruler.  I definitely think the standing measurement is more accurate (even though he was wiggling like crazy), but then again, when he had to be measured at Disney World to go on a ride, he cleared the 35 inches by at least an inch.  Whatever.  We have a healthy boy, so who cares.  I just don't want him to be a shrinking, healthy boy!  Haha!

Walker is doing very well; in fact, we are all doing well with our allergy and sinus problems since moving down here.  Hooray for that!  We did see an allergist last week, though, to get established and have some more testing done on Walker.  Turns out that Walker is less sensitive to eggs and is already outgrowing that allergy.  Yay!  He still can't have whole eggs, though, but the doctor said we could start trying more things with eggs in them.  Walker did seem to be more sensitive to peanuts than he was last year, so the doctor was a little surprised by that.  We're still giving him peanut butter once a month, though, and the allergist wanted to continue with that.  He never seems to have a reaction to peanut butter; it is so weird.

We're off to see the ophthalmologist in the next few weeks, so please pray for a good report!  Thanks!  Have a great weekend!

My 3rd Child (aka Sam)

I haven't posted anything on Sambo in a while, so I thought it was time.  Sam turned 4 months old on April 15th and weighs 44.5 lbs.  He got neutered last week and is recovering very well.  Here are a few things about Sam at 4 months:

  • He likes to dig holes all over our yard.
  • He likes to dig up the solar lighting and sprinkler heads.
  • He likes to chew on the pool toys, the boys' toys, the boys' bathing suits, and whatever else he can get ahold of that gets left outside.
  • He likes to chase the boys and bite holes in the backs of their shirts.
  • He loves to go for walks and pull his mama all over the place if he spots another dog.
Seriously, Sam is a sweet dog and is super smart; he figured out the doggie door immediately once it was installed.  He is very protective of the boys and always comes running to see about them if something happens in the pool.  He gives the best hand shakes with both paws.  We love him to pieces and are so happy to have him in our family!

Putt-Putt and Gators

This weekend, the four of us went to a local putt-putt place that I've been eye-balling for a while.  It was our first time going with the kids, and we had already decided ahead of time that Jake would be on my team and Walker would be on Tyson's team.  Tyson was talking all kinds of smack about how he was going to win and was trying to rub it in our sore loser's (aka Jake) face.  Ha!  Well, we should have known it wasn't going to go quite as planned.

As soon as we got there, it was chaos from the get-go.  Walker was running all over the place, throwing his ball into the water, dipping his golf club into the stream, and doing everything but playing putt putt.  Jake, on the other hand, was so serious about playing putt putt; however, he only wanted to stand right next to the hole and putt the ball in over and over again.  Between chasing Walker and trying to dodge Jake, there wasn't much putt putt to be played by me and Tyson.  Ha!  We ended up cutting it short on hole #15 and going to feed the gators.

Let me just tell you this- I know I live in Florida now and I expected to see some alligators when I moved here, but I had no clue I'd be seeing as many gators as I have!  We live in a golf-course community and there are tons of little ponds all around the golf course, and there are alligators EVERYWHERE in those ponds!  I can't even begin to explain to you how close these gators are to our house...it's definitely too close for comfort!  As scared as I am of the alligators, though, I've always wanted to feed them; well, I got my chance at the putt putt place.  They had a small little screened-in area with all these baby alligators that you could feed with a fishing pole...it was awesome!  You basically put some hot-dog on the end of the clamp, dangle the meat of the gator's head, and SNAP!  The gators would bite the food right off the pole!  There weren't any hooks on the poles so you couldn't catch the gators, but it would have been awesome if you could!  We basically had a few seconds of playing tug of war with the gators before the food released, and it was the most thrilling few seconds ever!

We all loved feeding the gators and can't wait to go back to do that again, but as far as the putt putt goes, Tyson and I both agreed it would be at least 8 more years until we tried that again.  Ha!

"Dinosaur Disney World" with My Mom

While my mom was in town this past weekend, she and I and the boys went to Disney's Animal Kingdom as part of Walker's birthday week celebration.  Actually, I think I just look for reasons to go to Disney. ;) Ha!  We tried out The Animal Kingdom, and it was pretty cool.  They have a whole section called "Dinoland" (hence Jake calling it "Dinosaur Disney World) that the boys LOVED!  Other than Dinoland, there wasn't a ton of stuff for the boys to do.  Jake and I did go on a Safari, which is pictured above, while Walker napped in the stroller, and we both really enjoyed that.  All of the animals were in their natural habitat and we just drove right up close to them.  Pretty cool.

We took advantage of the short lines and saw many of the characters while at Animal Kingdom, and Jake thought that was so cool.  Walker, as you tell from some of the pictures, wasn't a big fan of the characters.  Ha!  Fun times!

Thanks, Mom for coming with us!  We are so glad we got to share our experience at "Dinosaur Disney World" with you!

Walker's 2nd Birthday Party!

Walker loved his Dora, Diego, and Boots cake!

My dad is going to kill me for this one!

Mom and I got a good laugh watching the boys beat the pinata (and Tyson, too)...
...only to tell them that all you have to do to get the candy is to pull on the string. :)

After Tyson's Spring Game this past Saturday (and after going to our neighbor's birthday party), we celebrated Walker's 2nd birthday with my parents.  Walker asked for a "Diego party," so the boy got a Diego party...complete with a creepy-looking Diego pinata.  Ha!

Happy birthday, Walker!!
