"Hey-eee"

"Hey-eee!"...

...and this is a close-up of the face Jake makes at Walker while he says "hey-eee!"
...and we're over it.

Jake loves to get in Walker's face and say "hey-eee," and Jake says it over and over and over again and Walker just smiles everytime like it's something he's never seen before. It is so cute. I wish I could get it on video, but Jake catches me every time and stops doing it before I can get it. Anyways, these pictures of "hey-ee" will just have to suffice for now.

Speaking of "hey-ee," I've heard Walker say something that sounds like "hey," but I didn't know if I was just making it up or not. Well, Tyson heard him say it this weekend and said he thought it sounded like "hey," too. He really is going to be my social butterfly if "hey" is his first word! We've also heard him say "da da" a few times before, but he isn't saying it as consistently as "hey." I guess all of his big brother's "hey-ee's" are rubbing off!

Since our game was last Thursday night, Tyson actually got to come home for a few hours this weekend. The boys LOVED it, and so did I! I'm quickly figuring out that Walker might just be a Daddy's boy!

7 Months Old

Look what I can do!
Lots of slobber, but still no teeth!

My eyes are still blue!

Guess who's 7 months old? Walker!!! Here is a little bit about Walker at 7 months...

He is a monster! I don't know exactly how much Walker weighs, but he has gotten so big lately. When he turned 6 months old, I started putting him in 6-9 month clothes. Well, over the course of the last month, he has already outgrown the 6-9 month clothes AND is starting to outgrow 12 month clothes! He has gotten so big, Jake looks little next to him sometimes! Crazy!

Walker still eats about every 3 hours during the day 6-7 oz and eats a jar of baby food 3 times a day; he has also started feeding himself puffs and yogurt melts this last week. Walker's sleep has been inconsistent over the last month, but for the most part, he sleeps about 12-14 hours a night. Walker naps about 2-3 times a day for about 3-4 hours total. He is such an awesome baby!

Walker's crawling is really picking up in speed; he is such a busy body and is in to everything! He really wants to pull-up, but he can't quite do it yet. Walker does really well, though, when I prop him up to play on his little table...if his brother doesn't come and knock him down that is! Speaking of that, Walker is the toughest little boy ever. It's amazing how many times he's fallen over, hit his head, gotten knocked over, etc and he hasn't even thought about crying. So tough, but I guess he has to be with a big brother around!

Walker is such a sweet baby who still loves to smile. He is constantly cracking himself up and loves to laugh at his silly brother. He honestly has the cutest little personality!

Walker is such a blessing...I cannot imagine life without him!

Not the best picture of Jake, but look how big Walker is next to him!

W & J Picture Day

Today was picture day at Jake and Walker's school. The school hires this awesome photographer twice a year and she sets up inexpensive little packages for the parents much like you would get at real school; however, we haven't had much luck in the past with Jake's pictures (one time he was picking his nose and the other time he had this goofy look on his face). I was really hoping this year would be a little different since he is older and knows a little better, but no such luck...I think. I got to stick around for pictures this year since I had to bring Walker up to the school for his "class photos," and I could pretty much tell that things weren't going too well with my two. Walker is usually my go-to child for smiles, but for some reason, he just wasn't into it today. And Jake, well...he was being his normal complicated self for the camera (meaning he is VERY difficult to get smiles from on command) or either giving the cheesiest fake smile. Oh well, maybe the photographer worked some magic I didn't know about and got some great shots. Maybe. I hope. If not, oh well.

Cousin Jace's Visit

This is when they first got here Friday night...
...Jake and Jace were so sweet together!
Jace enjoyed pushing Walker around the house in his walker!
Jake thought Jace's gibberish was hilarious!

I love that sweet face!
My best attempt at getting a picture of all 3 boys in a picture!

...it only took about 30 shots to get these 3 "decent" ones! Ha!

This is "serious Walker."

Walker, me, Amy, and Jace (I think Jake was running around like a mad man and refused to be photographed any more!)

...and again, but in black in white for the parents!

Walker loves Aunt Amy!

Aunt Amy, Uncle Courtney, and "cousin Jace" came for a visit this weekend to join us for the UAB-Marshall game. Despite the outcome of the game, we had a great weekend! We were so sad to see them drive away this weekend; I sure wish we all lived closer! :( Hurry back, Howell family! Thanks for making the long haul to see us! Love y'all!

These Boys...

Jake trying to wrestle Walker to the ground...
...but Walker holds his own!
...and now Jake riding Walker's "horsey"...
...but Walker bucked him off!

I was trying to get a shot of his shirt "Ladies Man." Ha! And disregard the high-waters, his legs grow so quickly! Grandparents, now might be a good time to send this poor baby some new clothes! ;)

I'm pretty sure this is why Walker has started crawling so quickly!

What am I going to do with these boys? They're a mess!! I remember saying something to my friend Leslie, who happens to have 2 boys around my boys' ages but a little older, about how cute her boys are and how well they play together and I just wish my boys would play more together...well, I definitely got what I asked for! These two won't leave each other alone! And I love it!

First, let me just say that no child was injured in the making of these pictures. :) Walker is the toughest kid I know and has already gotten used to his role as little brother (ie punching bag, tackling dummy). Seriously, Jake can be kind of rough with him (well, more on that in a minute), but Walker just smiles and thinks it's funny and keeps going. So on to Jake...Jake is a normal 2 going on 3 year old and is testing his boundaries, which includes: how much can I get away with before Mama gets on to me?; how rough can I be before getting too rough?; how much can my little brother take?; etc. Overall, though, he does pretty well for his age; he continues to surprise me daily with how good of a big brother he is.

Last Week

So do you remember me saying I had some posts/pictures that are kind of scattered? Well, here they are! Some of them I just didn't have time to post, and some of them I just couldn't find a topic to post about, so why not just combine them into one big random post?

The pictures above are were taken right before bedtime one night. Jake has been such an awesome and sweet big brother lately! I'm so proud of him! Walker, on the other hand, remains pretty cautious/guarded whenver Jake is close! Ha! I can't say that I blame him! ;)

This is Walker's newest trick, much like Jake's trick from back in the day. Mind you, I'm not trying to compare the 2 boys, but I couldn't help but notice that Jake started doing this same thing about 3 weeks after he started crawling. Apparently, this trick is a precursor for standing/walking, and since Jake was an early walker (10 months), I can't help but think Walker will be, too. Who knows...I could totally be wrong, and in a way, I kind of hope I am. Having two mobile children is wearing me out! I told Tyson yesterday that the only time I actually sat down was when I was driving and when I was feeding Walker supper while simulateously stuffing my mouth. Ha!

Trick or Treating: Birmingham Style

Jake and Superman (aka Ryan)
This little monkey was so happy to see his Daddy!
"Trick or treat!"

They kept saying "next house!"

Holding hands!

I told Tyson that it was a good thing I got so many pictures at my parents' house on Saturday because I hardly had a chance to take any pictures on Sunday, the actual day of Halloween! You see, when Tyson got home from work, we dressed the boys and walked outside to take pictures. Well, low and behold, Ryan and the Maddens were outside, and Jake and Ryan spotted each other and took off! They hadn't seen each other in 4 whole days and they were so excited to see each other...that and they knew that candy was in their future, so they took off trick or treating. They are such a mess those two!

We hit about 20 some odd homes in our neighborhood, and Jake finally said, "I'm ready to go home." What kid says that on Halloween? I told him he couldn't eat his candy until we were all done trick or treating, so I guess he was all done and ready for that candy! Ha! We didn't go home, though. Instead, we went to Ginger and Ryan's house for a fun little party. Thanks Turner family!

We were so happy to have Daddy here for Halloween. This is the first year since Jake was born that Tyson has actually been able to be apart of Halloween on the actual day; I usually have to plan a day that Tyson is "off" (meaning home before 7 pm) around Halloween to go trick or treating so that he can be there. Our friends and neighbors are always so nice and accomodating to let us do that, but I'm so glad we didn't have to do that this year!

This was such a fun Halloween! Poor Walker conked out after about house 5, but he was a good sport and just slept on his Daddy's shoulder and let us continue trick or treating. ;) I can't wait until next year when Walker can enjoy it more!
