UCF's Fan Fest

Knightro and Jake. Walker is still deathly afraid of our mascot.

The boys and our favorite coach.
Walker and Jake getting autographs from the linebackers.
The boys' favorite player- Willie Mitchell.

Our quarterback, Blake Bortles. Walker told him "I'm the REAL #5!"
 Jake in the hamster ball.

 Walker's buddy, Jordan.
The boys with Mario Mathis, #32.  Tyson recruited Mario (who comes from a "Blindside" like story), and Mario promised the boys he'd babysit after the season.  The boys are now obsessed with him!
 The balloon guy!

Last night was UCF's fan fest, aka Sweat Fest!  Ha!  No seriously, it was so hot that I ended up getting dehydrated and starting contracting around midnight.  I chugged some water and the contractions went away, but I told Tyson that Fan Fest almost put me into labor!

Despite the heat, the boys had the time of their lives!  They both say their favorite thing was seeing their daddy, but I think Walker also really enjoyed the bounce house and Jake LOVED the hamster ball.  In fact, Jake asked me I would buy him one of those balls.  Ha!

Kickoff is this Thursday at 7 pm against Akron!  Go Knights!

First Day of School!

First Day of 3K for Walker!

First day of Kindergarten for Jake!

Jake was NOT excited about having to wear khaki shorts and getting his picture taken.  Walker is mocking him, of course.
At least Jake can quickly throw on a fake smile.
 Jake's classroom!!!
And there he goes!  That is his teacher, Mrs. Winemiller.

It's the first day of school!  Woo hoo...or as Walker said this morning "hallelujah!"   Ha!  I think he's heard his mama say that one too many times!

Let me start by saying that Jake has really surprised me about how excited he's been to start Kindergarten.  For someone that can be so shy and introverted at times, he has fully embraced this experience from the get-go.  He actually told me the other night at meet the teacher that he never wanted to leave his Kindergarten class; he instantly fell in love with his teacher, classroom, school, etc.  His best friend, Daniel, is in his class and two other neighborhood/karate buddies as well.

Walker, on the other hand, who is my not-so-shy child, kept telling everyone that he was "nervous."  (He has a hard time pronouncing his "r's" so it sounds extra cute).  Ha!  What makes it even funnier is that 3 of my good friends are his teachers, he's going to the same school that he's gone to since we moved here (which is also where we go to church), and his 2 best friends are in the class.  Silly boy.  He's honestly become such a mama's boy that I think he just doesn't want to leave me. :(

Getting the boys off to school went ok this morning.  I had to fight the clothes battle with Jake (Mr. I  only want to wear "athletic clothes"), and I ended up just giving in and letting him change after pictures and before we left for school.  I would hate for his first day to be ruined because I made him wear khaki's.  Ugh.  And Walker was pitching a fit because he didn't want to wear his new shoes because they give him "Bwisters."  Whatever...they caught me at a vulnerable state and won this morning.

Jake's school is actually 0.5 mile door to door from our house, so all our neighbors walk their kids to school.  Well, for some crazy reason, I thought it would be neat if we walked to school this morning, too, so we met up with all the neighbors and walked in one big group to the school.  What a bad idea!  Being 9 months pregnant walking in 90 degree Orlando heat in August with a 3 year old in tote was a NIGHTMARE!!  I had even gotten up early this morning and all to shower for my 10:30 doctor's appointment...as you can imagine, I was a sweaty miserable mess by the time I got back to the house and had to shower AGAIN after dropping Walker off.  Speaking of Walker, he was even so miserable with the walk that he pitched a fit the whole way home, and that's not like him.  Ugh!  Peer pressure! ;)

Walker did great with drop-off.  He's been giving me a hard time all summer whenever I leave him anywhere (summer school or school), so I just knew I was in for it this morning.  It really helped already knowing his teachers so well, though.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great school year!!

35 Weeks!

This picture was actually taken by Jake this past Friday when I was 34 weeks 6 days.

I had an appointment this past Friday with my OB, and all is well with baby boy.  It was a very quick appointment, though, since my boys were at each other's throats and were stressing the doctor out.  Ha!  We'll start doing cervical checks at my next appointment and then the exciting stuff should really begin.  :)

The doctor did say the baby is still transverse, which doesn't matter too much since I'm having a C-section, but it will affect how they do the C-section, so they like to be prepared.  If he doesn't turn head down in the next few weeks, I'll have an ultrasound and we'll go from there.  I haven't seen his sweet face since my 17 week ultrasound, and I'm dieing to see what he looks like.

Other than all that, I'm actually feeling pretty okay.  Apparently his transverse position was causing a lot of my pain, however, the pain is FINALLY starting to ease off.  Now I'm just dealing with the normal aches and pains of pregnancy....and the lack of sleep.  But the end is in sight, school is about to start for the big boys, and football camp is almost over...life is good! :)

Anderson's Nursery

The big boys wanted me to take a pick of their room. :)

The Lizard Hunters

 The lizard hunters!

Last week was a very hard week for us; I was trying to take it easy, so the boys and I just hung out at home...a lot.  Well hanging out at home = boredom, which = FIGHTING!  Oh my goodness, I didn't think I was going to survive the weekend, but we made it out alive and I swore to myself that no matter how I felt, we were not going to stay at home.  Luckily, my awesome friends picked up on my insanity and jumped right in to help.  We now have fun playdates scheduled almost every day until school starts and people are bringing us food and anything else they can to help.  I don't know what I'd do without my friends here...it honestly takes a village to survive football season!

The pictures above are from one of my desperate attempts to entertain the boys this past weekend.  My boys are so spoiled rotten that having a swimming pool in their backyard means nothing to them and it's like pulling teeth to get them out there, so I had to spice it up and add the bounce house to the pool area for fun.  It didn't entertain them as long as I would've liked, however, the lizards did.

I don't know if y'all know this or not, but lizards are EVERYWHERE here in Florida.  And they love to crawl on our screens around the pool.  Well, the Summers boys LOVE to shoot the lizards down and knock them off the screen; it's almost a game to them.  As long as I'm not having to pick up a dead lizard or getting attacked by a lizard, I just let the boys have at it.  Lizard hunting will entertain the boys for hours, and it is something they do together where they are actually getting along and not fighting.  Win, win, I tell you!  Ha!

And So It Begins...

Football camp started this week.  I have dreaded this time from the second I found out I was pregnant and due in September.  It is hot as you know what, the kids are going crazy, I'm at that miserable part of pregnancy, and my husband is never home except to sleep in his bed.  Blah.  I usually try to get out of town during camp, but my doctor wouldn't let me travel past 32 weeks.  I just keep telling myself that if I can make it to August 19th (when the boys start back school), I'll be fine.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about my husband or his job; this is my 8th (?) season and I'm actually used to Tyson's crazy hours.  It was hard getting used to his schedule the first few years, especially as a new mom, but I really don't know any different now.  I love being a coach's wife, I just hate August with a passion, pregnant or not pregnant.

Anyways, the boys and I are trying to go to as many practices as we can before they start school.  The boys are finally at ages where they enjoy watching practice and can behave (for the most part). ;)  Jake is constantly begging me to let him go to work with Daddy and to let him be "the water boy."  So cute- too bad Coach O'Leary would NEVER go for either thing.  There are definitely days where I've thought about shipping him off to the football office, though. ;)

Click here for the link to our schedule.  Our first game is August 29 at home with Akron and the regular season ends December 7th at SMU.  I'm usually much more concerned with the games in between, but I have a feeling when baby Anderson comes, all I'm going to care about is "when is football season over?!"  Ha!  Go Knights!

More Maternity Pics!

I just got the pictures back from my friend, Emily, of my maternity photo shoot.  I am not a "serious face" photo taker, but she sure seemed to have a lot of me.  I think maybe she was just trying to get a less-chubby face photo of me!  Ha!  Anyways, enjoy!!
