Game Ball and Kaycee's Kids

I told Jake to make a face like a baseball player, and this is what he gave me.
...and this.  Hahaha!  I think he's seen one too many of his Daddy's football pictures.
Jake got two big hits and earned the game ball.
Walker H., Jake, Ella, and Walker S.
It was Anderson's first time in a bathing suit.  He was a little too sleepy, though, for swimming.

My best friend from college, Kaycee, came to Orlando this last week to see her family, and Tyson, the boys, and I drove out to Kissimmee on Sunday to see her.  We met up at her parents' condo's water park and had a day of fun in the sun.  We haven't seen her or her kiddos since last year at this time, but our kids remembered each other right away and played like they've known each other forever.  My Walker even said his favorite part of the day was "seeing Walker."  Aww!!  And Kaycee's mom might have even told Jake that he needs to marry Ella so that we can all be family.  Hahaha!  So much fun in "paradise!" ;)

Spring Football Practice and Tyson's New Title

The UCF Knights started Spring football this week, and the boys and I got to go to a practice this weekend. Cameras aren't allowed at practice, so as always, I lifted this picture from our Rivals guy. ;)

For those of you who don't know, our defensive coordinator left a few weeks ago, and Tyson has been named interim DC. (Click here for the article) We're super excited about the opportunity; hopefully, Coach O'Leary will name Tyson the defensive coordinator after spring practice.  Paul Tenorio, from the Orlando Sentinel, wrote this article about why Tyson would be a great fit (Click here for the other article about Tyson).  I have to say, I couldn't agree more with the article. Then again, I'm slightly biased. ;)

Disney Jr. Live and Team Pics

This past weekend, Tyson, the boys, and I went to see Disney Jr. live at the UCF arena.  I've said it a hundred times, but my children have been spoiled rotten by living in Orlando.  They're so spoiled that they didn't even think the Disney Jr. Live show was even that cool.  I mean, why would they?  They've gotten to meet Jake (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates) up close and have their picture taken with him, so I guess it isn't a big deal to see him from afar.  Anyways, I enjoyed it, especially since we were all together.  Tyson starts spring football this week, so it'll be a hot minute before we get to hang out with him again. *Sigh*

Anderson's 6 Month Check-up and Rice Cereal

 OMG, I love this one...
...and because I love it so much, I zoomed in on it and posted it, too. :)

Today, my big boys helped me feed Anderson his first rice cereal.  I had a feeling it wouldn't go so great since Anderson will spit anything out that goes into his mouth (well, Tylenol) that isn't formula.  And that is what he did, he spit it all out.  I'm pretty sure I never even saw him swallow.  Ha!

Tyson took Anderson to his 6 month check up this past Friday.  He was 19 lbs 4 oz (87%) and 28.75 inches (100%) long.  Nice and thick. :)  Here is how he compares to the other two:

Jake:         18 lbs 11 oz and 28 inches
Walker:     17 lbs 13.5 oz and 28 inches
Anderson: 19 lbs 4 oz and 28.75 inches

Anderson is our biggest boy yet!

One area of concern is that the pediatrician heard a heart murmur that he's never heard before.  Now, Anderson did have a questionable heart murmur after birth, but the pediatrician (who was a different doctor than this one) didn't hear anything on our first visit after discharge from the hospital.  I'm not sure if this could be related or not (I wasn't there to ask and I feel terrible about it), but we should get some answers pretty soon.  We're supposed to see a pediatric cardiologist within the week or so.  Prayers would always be appreciated.

Other than the heart murmur, everything is going great with Anderson.  He got his first tooth last week and is already working on his 2nd tooth.

Jake's Last Flag Football Game

In the first video, Jake gets his 3rd touchdown.
In the 2nd and 3rd video, Jake (#2) pulls flags.

Jake finished up his flag football today; he ended up with 3 touchdowns for the season and the Defensive MVP (not really, but his mama decided if they had one, he would get it).  Ha!  We had so much fun and are really going to miss flag football.

My Trip to Georgia

Last week, Tyson had a few days off of work, so I left the kids with him and took off to visit my family in Georgia.  My first stop was in Thomaston, Ga, to see my parents; I haven't been to Thomaston since we moved to Orlando 2 years ago.  Needless to say, it was a long, overdue trip.  The next morning, I woke up and drove to Cochran to visit my grandparents.  My grandmother's Parkinson's dementia is really taking a toll on her.  She is nonverbal but could still recognize me; in fact, the second I walked in the door, she started crying her eyes out.  It absolutely broke my heart.  I showed her pictures of my boys and a video that Walker had made her, and she just cried some more.  I was only able to stay a few hours, and she watched me constantly to make sure I hadn't left. :(  As sad and as hard as it was, I am so thankful I got to go and spend time with her and my granddaddy (and my cousins, too).

My last stop was in Tifton to see my sister and her family.  I got a ton of silly selfies with the kids on my phone, but nothing on my camera.  They were super cute and enjoyed their time with Aunt Beth, but Jace told me that next time I "need to bring his cousins."  Hahaha!

Thanks to my awesome husband for allowing me to have this kid-free time to go see my family!

Ballin'

Whew!!  What a day! First thing this morning, Jake had a football game.  This was the earliest we've played yet, and Jake Summers was barely awake.  He played okay, but he definitely wasn't as quick on his feet at 9 am as he usually is.  We only stayed at the game for the first half because we had to book it to his baseball game.

So, yep, Jake had his first baseball game today.  We're playing for the same coach (Coach Tom) and team (the Grasshoppers), but Jake is in coach pitch this year.  It has been quite an adjustment from tee-ball.  I think Jake will get the hang of it as the season progresses, and I think he'll be able to concentrate a lot more once football is over.  He has made it known that he doesn't like baseball as much as football, however, this mama will continue to push baseball (and other sports for that matter) as long as he'll let me.  (I think Jake would make football a year-round sport if he could). ;)

Anyways, Jake got two at bats.  The first time he hit the ball, he tipped it and it didn't go far.  His second at bat, though, he ripped it pretty good.  Jake played catcher for an inning and then told his coach he was "tired of playing catcher and bending down."  Hahaha!  I don't blame him, but Jake was one of the few kids on the team with the proper "equipment" (if you know what I mean) to play catcher, so he got chosen by default.  He then played short stop the next inning and assumed his role as the team ball hog.  Ha!  He did really well, though...especially considering how early it was and that he had already played a whole first half of football.

Whew!  It makes me tired just thinking about it all.  We only have 1 more week of football and baseball at the same time, so hopefully life will calm down a bit...and then it will get crazy again as we add Walker's soccer in to our crazy schedule.  I wouldn't trade it for the world, though.  I sure do love my boys!
