Go Go Power Rangers!

The boys getting some lessons from the Green Ranger.

Walker's favorite ranger.  He was in Heaven.

 Jake's favorite ranger.

Anderson grabbed a hold of the yellow ranger's glove and held on for dear life.  I had no idea he did that until I tried to walk away from the picture and the yellow ranger was being dragged along.  Hahaha!
The pink ranger was being so sweet to Anderson.  She kept playing peek-a-boo with him and he loved her mask.  (This is our friend, Dave's, head by the way).
The boys did NOT want to pose with the pink ranger...
...and neither did these boys.  Hahaha!

This past weekend, we went with our friends, the Wensyels, to the Nickelodeon Hotel for Power Ranger weekend.  Everyone had so much fun!

We started the day off with lunch with the Power Rangers.  I'll admit, I didn't know how two 6 year olds and an 8 year old would be with the whole experience, but I knew my 3 year old would have the time of his life...and he did...they all did!  And the adults even had fun!  Our fun was geared more, though, towards trying to figure out which Power Rangers were boys and which ones were girls.  Hahahaha!  You'd be amazed at how well they can move and jump in those spandex pants! ;)

After the lunch, we hit up the resort's pool where Jake had the "slime" of his life. ;)  More on that later!

The Little Two

I just realized that I haven't blogged in almost a whole week!  I have a fun blog coming up in the next few days, so stay tuned!  For now, though, I'll leave you with this picture of my two littlest boys.  Have a great weekend!

Anderson's Baptism

Pastor Lyndol let the boys pour the water into the bowl.  They thought they were pretty cool after that.
It was actually pretty cool...Lyndol used water from the Jordan River to baptize Anderson.

We're laughing here because Lyndol said (something along these lines), "If Anderson looks familiar, you might have seen his birth announcement on ESPN right after he was born.  Or it could be because you recognize him as baby Jesus."  Anyways, he want on to say a few more things along those lines that we weren't expecting and it was quite funny.

Celebrating Anderson's baptism with our church friends and family with a little cake in The Commons.
Some little boys had too much cake.
Bahaha!  I was trying to get a picture of the balloons and I caught this silly expression from my friend, Lisa (on the far left). :)

 Team Summers
The whole crew

Today, our sweet little Anderson was baptized here at our church in Orlando.  Like I said in the previous post, my parents and Mary Ann came to celebrate with us. I sure missed my grandparents being there, and I know my Granddaddy missed being there, too. :(

Anderson wore a cross that Mary Ann gave him and the christening gown now worn by all 3 Summers boys, my sister and I, my dad and his brother, and my dad's grandfather and maybe even more than that.  I sure wish we had the exact history on that gown, but either way, it sure is special and I'm honored my boys have gotten to wear it.  Jake and Walker thought it was hilarious that Anderson was wearing "a dress"...until I showed them pictures from their baptisms with them in that very same "dress."  Hahaha!  (Click here for Jake's baptism and click here for Walker's baptism).

Baptism Weekend

Jake's flag football team
I managed to catch the final shot of the air hockey championship.  Can you tell by the faces in the picture who won?  Hahaha!
The men in the house spent a lot of time napping...

...while the women entertained the kids.  Typical.

This weekend, my parents and Mary Ann came to town to celebrate Anderson's baptism with us.  Mary Ann didn't get in until Saturday afternoon, so she managed to escape these candids. :)

Saturday was a pretty dreary day.  Jake was supposed to have a flag football game, but it was cold and raining and the game got cancelled.  He still had pictures, though, so all the kids stuck around and decided to play the game anyways.  I was so glad they did that so that my dad and Tyson could see Jake play since they haven't yet.  I think they were both pretty entertained by Jake's game. :)

Kindergarten Homework

Math Fluency cards: these are simple addition and subtraction problems that Jake has to have memorized and will be timed on without being able to use counters (i.e. no fingers!)
Dolch site words: these are about 20-25 site words that he has to have memorized every week (sometimes they get 2 weeks for these).
Vocabulary words: he has 10 words a week that he gets tested on.  The words (and definitions) are absolutely ridiculous sometimes, but I do what I'm told. ;)
 Timed Reading
 Writing prompt.
 Math homework for tonight.
 Page 2 of math homework.
And lastly, 20 minutes of reading a day.  I prefer the books on the left, which are scholastic books sight words and phonics.  I find that they are a little easier to read for Jake so he doesn't get frustrated...there are usually only 1 or 2 words per page that he needs help with and the words they use are very repetitive, which helps him learn them.  Not to mention, the easy to read books on the right are considered "baby books" by Jake's standards.

I just had to document Jake's Kindergarten homework because I know one day I'll look back at this and laugh thinking of all the times I said, "He has soooooo much homework!" Hahaha!  Honestly, we spend about an hour a day doing homework...and he's in KINDERGARTEN!  It blows my mind!  I can't imagine what it's going to be like when all 3 are older and doing homework....and much more difficult homework at that.

Is it just me or does this seem like a lot?  Tyson and I were talking the other day about what we remember from Kindergarten, and I said I remember learning my letters.  Well, these days, not only are you expected to know your letters by Kindergarten, but you're expected to know how to write them and how they are pronounced.  It's craziness.  Then again, Jake learned to read a lot earlier than I did and definitely a lot earlier than Tyson did.  Hahaha!

Wrapping Up Recruiting

This is how we spent part of our Sunday afternoon...playing Mario Kart. Oh how we've missed Tyson! :)
This is right before Anderson spit up all over Jake.  Hahaha!
 Fingers in the mouth...always.
This is the look that Jake gets when he talks to Anderson.
Every time we're out in public with Tyson, all we hear is how much Anderson looks like Tyson.  Jake and Walker always say, "it's because they're bald."  Hahaha!

Tomorrow is National Signing Day!  Woo hoo!! Good bye hubby traveling all week long, recruiting weekends, and constant cell phone usage and HELLO hubby time!  This has to have been the longest season of MY LIFE!  And it's finally OVER!!!!!!!!
