The 3 Amigos
Now...
And then.
Walker, Anderson, and Jake
Ok, so I finally found a picture of Jake that I could use for comparison. The picture was taken with our old point and shoot, so it isn't as good of quality and I can't figure out how to straighten it, but y'all get the point. There are definitely a lot of similarities between the three. What do y'all think?
Last Day at the Hospital and First Day at Home
Dad and Anderson
Mrs. O'Leary loves her some Summers' boys! She spoils them so much! She even threw me a surprise baby shower a few weeks ago. I think my boys remind her a lot of her grandkids in Georgia, so she treats them as if they are her own.
Angie and Anderson. Angie drove through a massive storm to come see us on the other side of Orlando. I couldn't ask for a better friend. :)
BROTHERS!
Tired of mama telling Walker to smile a real smile! hahaha!
They did this completely on their own. :)
I have been a horrible picture-taker! Poor Anderson is definitely the third child! Ha!
We were discharged home from the hospital Saturday, just in time for the Georgia game. ;) Tyson actually got Saturday afternoon off, so he brought us home and was here for our first few hours at home as a family of 5.
Things have been going pretty well since being home. The boys are adjusting really well and Anderson is such a good baby. My parents are here and are a huge help; they mainly help with the big boys and the household stuff so that I can concentrate on the baby. I've had a pretty hard recovery, though, so I'm not bouncing back as quickly as I expected or would've liked to. Other than that, all is well.
I'll try to write more as I get time. Here is a funny story to leave you with- so my parents were responsible for Jake's homework while I was in the hospital. Well, Kindergarten homework around here is no joke. Jake usually has site words, math homework, and writing/reading assignments; it's actually pretty ridiculous. Anyways, I thought my dad, the former school superintendent, and my mother, the former high school English teacher, could handle a little Kindergarten homework, though. So I get home from the hospital Saturday and I look in Jake's book bag, and I see that his homework HAD BEEN RETURNED! I was so confused, so I started looking through it. It turns out that my parents had done Jake's homework WRONG and his teacher sent it back to be corrected! Hahahaha! I asked my dad about it and he said, "Yeah, those directions were really confusing!" Hahahaha! Needless to say, I've taken back over homework duty since my educator parents can't handle a little Kindergarten homework. :)

Twins?
Walker on the left and Anderson on the right.
Ok, so I've said from the very get-go that Anderson looks like Jake and Tyson, but then I saw these two pictures of Walker and Anderson, and now I'm thoroughly confused. Is it me or does Anderson look a lot like Walker?

FIU Game and Anderson's National TV Debut
While I was in the hospital, UCF beat FIU 38-0!! The hospital didn't get the channel the game was on, but I was fortunate enough to stream it live through my computer. And am I so glad I did because of this awesome clip they played:
Tyson's best friend, Worth, recorded the video for us. Thanks, Worth! You see, CBS caught wind of our story (football coach's wife having a baby the day before he left for the game) and just ran with it. CBS contacted us Friday morning asking permission to show Anderson's picture and tell the story, and of course we said yes. It was by far one of the coolest things to ever happen to us. And to top it all off, the defense pitched a shut-out! Woo hoo! It definitely made the whole "have a baby and then your husband leave you all alone at the hospital for 2 days" thing worth it. ;) Go Knights!

I kind of had a plan in my mind of who all I would need to call if I went into labor, so I just immediately started down that list. I called my mom, who was already in Daytona in route to Orlando, first and told her to get to the hospital ASAP. Next, I called our defensive coach's wife, Leslie, who was going to keep the kids for me. Jake was still at school, but Walker was out for the day, so I sent him to my friend Angie's house until Leslie could get there. And then I called my friend Carol to come pick me up and take me to the hospital, which is a good 30 minutes from my house. And finally, I called Kristy, Tyson's contact for when he was at practice and I went into labor. I calmly explained to Kristy the situation and that I was headed to the hospital but knew Tyson was at practice, so just let him know the deal at the end of practice. Sure enough, as soon as Kristy told Tyson, he talked to Coach O'Leary about it and hit the road.
Once we got to the hospital, my blood pressures were all over the place, however, my labs all came back normal. The doctor was kind of on the fence about what to do, so she decided to keep me there for a few more hours and monitor my blood pressures. She also asked for me to be on the fetal monitor, and once they put me on the monitor, they realized I was contracting every 2-3 minutes. Yes, I was contracting that much and didn't even know it!!! The nurse checked me and my cervix was posterior and closed, so again, they couldn't decide what to do. I'm telling y'all, it was a roller coaster of a day- "your blood pressure is high, but your body isn't affected by it...you're contracting every 2 minutes, but your cervix isn't affected by it...you're 38+ weeks, but." Anyways, I was a mess- I was hurting, stressed out, and worried that if we didn't deliver then, Tyson would possibly miss the delivery. And then the doctor appeared out of no where and said, "you feel like having a baby today?" Aww!! I immediately started crying. :)
After the doctor confirmed the C-section, everything just started happening so quickly. Before we knew it, we were back in the OR and baby boy was on his way! I'll spare y'all the details, but the C-section ended up being way more complicated than expected for several reasons. And Anderson either got stuck or was in such a weird position that they had a hard time getting him out. They ended up having to use a vacuum, and now poor guy has some bruising on his head from it. :( He also had a little bit of a hard time breathing when he came out; they worked on him for a bit and he ended up being fine...it was still scary for nurse mom. But then I started having complications, so it ended up being a very long and painful night.
Anderson was born at 7:01 pm weighing 9 lbs 1 oz and 20.5 inches long. He is an absolute doll baby and we are already so in love with him. It's hard to tell who he looks like, but I think he is a really good combination of Jake and Walker but favoring Tyson and Jake more than anything. He is also spoiled rotten already- he doesn't like to lay in his bassinet and insists on being held by me or Tyson. :) Which by the way, Tyson had to leave for Miami this morning. I know he is missing his new baby boy but we are thanking our lucky stars that he got to be there for delivery. I don't know how I would've survived last night without him.
Oh, and the boys got to meet their baby brother today, and they are in love with their brother. I'm not just saying that either. They both just ooh'd and aww'd over him and kept begging to hold him and feed him. I am one happy and blessed mama!

Akron Game
Pre-game of Tyson
UCF beat Akron 38-7 last Thursday night at home. I chose not to go, though, because 1) my babysitter cancelled on me and I was NOT taking my two crazy boys to that game by myself on a school night and 2) I'm 9+ months pregnant and would've been miserable. What a game, though! The defense was AMAZING and held Akron to less than 250 yards! Woo hoo! I am so so proud of my hubby and the defense!
I wish I could've been there to see the game in person, but I made the best decision for me and my 3 boys. :) Tyson did have our friend and his co-worker, Kristy (Director of Player Development maybe?) call and check in on me at least every quarter. He was so worried I would go into labor and not tell him. :) So cute.
Next up, we play at FIU this Friday night at 8 pm. Tyson leaves Thursday around lunch and won't be back until early Saturday morning. One of the state troopers has promised to rush him back after the game if need be, but other than that, he won't be able to come back any sooner if I go into labor. :( My parents will be here with me, but I pray that Anderson can hold off until after this game so his Daddy can be there, too. As for now, football season baby watch continues. ;) Go Knights!
