A Family of Four

First picture as a family of four...
Jake looks thrilled, right?

Jake and Walker and "the stare down"

Thank goodness for the grandmas!

Even "Da" helped entertain Jake

Tyson and I are very thankful to have both grandmothers here helping us with Jake while we are in the hospital; I don't know what we'd do without them. Thanks Pa Pa and G Mama!

Anyways, the grandmas (and "Da" gets credit, too) brought Jake to the hospital today to see us and to meet his baby brother. I knew I'd be feeling and looking pretty rough after my c-section, so I wanted to wait a little while until Jake came to the hospital to see us. Well, Tyson and I were missing our little boy badly, so we got our moms to bring him to the hospital today to see us.

I was really worried about how Jake would respond, but he did pretty good. Don't get me wrong, I've been trying to prepare him for his "baby brother's" arrival, but it's kinda hard to gauge what a 27 month old actually understands. Anyways, as soon as he walked through the door (and washed his dirty little hands, of course), he took one look at Walker and said "baby brother!" It was sooooo cute! I wasn't really expecting him to gush all over him (he is a little boy and all) but I didn't think he'd be jealous either; just as I thought, he was just kind of mellow about the whole thing and just checked Walker out pretty hard. I think more than anything, Jake was just really excited to have all of his favorite people in one room and felt the need to show-out. :) And show-out he did! He was being so loud and silly, I'm surprised he didn't get kicked out of the hospital.

I can't wait to get home to our family of four. Then again, I'm sure just as soon as we get home, I'm gonna be begging to go back to the hospital. :)

Here are some pictures from yesterday, Walker's birthday. We were very blessed to have my grandparents, my parents, and Tyson's mom here for Walker's birth. Jake still hasn't met his brother yet, but he should be here shortly.

We are doing well so far. Walker is such a sweet baby; he looks like a mixture of his big brother and his Daddy. He doesn't have quite as much hair as Jake did, and it seems to be a little lighter. He is absolutely adorable...but I might be a little biased. :)

Oh, and Happy birthday, Tyson! With all the excitement of Walker's arrival, poor Tyson's birthday has been put on the back burner. He's being a good sport, though.

More pictures later! Have a great Sunday!

He's Here!

Walker Bayly Summers was born today at 2:15 CST. He is 9 lbs 4 oz and 21 inches long, and he is absolutely precious! We are both doing really well...thanks for all the prayers! I will try to post pictures soon! Happy birthday, Walker! We love you!

It's Time!!

Yes, I'm in labor and I'm blogging from my hospital room. Crazy, huh? I just wanted to let everyone know because I'm not sure when I'll be able to post again, and I wanted to ask everyone for their prayers. My c-section is scheduled for 2 pm CST today (April 10), so Happy early Birthday, Walker!

I can't believe the time is finally here. I've been feeling rough for the last few days, but I had no idea we'd be having baby Walker this weekend! I woke up around 6:30 this morning and decided to go ahead and shower and get ready for our busy day (football scrimmage at 9:30, birthday party at 2:30, and work at 7 pm)....thank goodness for that shower! :) Anyways, Jake woke up around 7:15 and we ate breakfast and started getting ready for our day. (Tyson had already left around 6 am this morning for football). About 8:15 am, my water broke. I was a lot calmer than I ever thought I would be but I was still in a state of panic....there was lots to be done! I made the appropriate phone calls, got Tyson out of practice, secured child care for Jake, finished getting ready, and waited for Tyson to come pick me up.

We're at the hospital right now just hanging out until the c-section at 2 pm. What a beautiful day for a birthday! Happy birthday, Walker! We can't wait to meet you! Mommy and Daddy love you!

The next time I'll post, Walker will be here! Please say a prayer for a safe and healthy delivery of baby Walker, a speedy recovery for mom, and safe travels for our families. Thanks so much! Stay tuned! :)

Watch Out Ladies...

Barney Fife is on the prowl!

Minus the pollen, we have really been enjoying this beautiful Alabama weather lately. Jake and I are outside everyday for a good 2 or 3 hours until Daddy comes home to join us outside for more playtime. Jake mainly spends his time riding his jeep, tricycle, and scooter, but he also enjoys hitting baseballs off the tee, picking up sticks, playing with sidewalk chalk, blowing bubbles, kicking the soccer ball, and just running around like crazy person. So much fun! I just love having a little boy!

He is super fast on this scooter!...

...but sometimes he gets tired and wants to be pushed! :)

37 Weeks 6 Days

(This is a frontal of his face...that's the umbilical cord right above his nose).

11 more days (or less) until Walker is here!!

I had a doctor's appointment today and everything is great! We did an ultrasound to check his position, and he is head down and ready to go! He was absolutely precious on ultrasound; he already looks so much like Jake did as a baby- big chubby cheeks, pouty lips, cute lil nose, and lots of hair! Our appointment was running late, so the ultrasound tech didn't have time to do all the measurements to tell us how big he was, but she said he has a really big stomach and is running out of space! Duh. Oh, and he is still a boy. :)

What else? His heartrate was 124 and my belly is measuring 41 cm. I don't know if I mentioned this before or not, but because I am having a repeat c-section, my OB doesn't check my cervix. So, I have no clue where I am in that department. All I know is that I'm ready!!!!!!

I have been having some contractions, but obviously nothing consistent enough to be in labor. My water broke at exactly 38 weeks and 1 day with Jake, so I'm really excited to see if anything happens in this next week. Well, then again...Tyson asked me not to go into labor tomorrow while Jake and I visit him at football practice, and I'm praying I don't go into labor at work tomorrow night. I can't imagine having to go straight to the hospital from work all covered in nasty germs. Yuck. So if I can make it until Sunday, we'll be good to go. Plus, someone (Tyson) turns the big 3-0 on Sunday and is praying that he gets to share his birthday with a special little boy. :)

Anyways, all is well with us...we're just anxiously waiting on Walker's arrival. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

**Oh, and sorry there's no belly pic. Just take my word for it- I'm huge and not very cute.

Happy Easter!

"Choo choo!"
So sweet of my two boys!

Well, today didn't go quite as planned. Our neighborhood had an Easter Eggstavaganza that we were so excited about taking Jake to, but unfortunately, the rain kind of messed up our plans. So no Easter Egg Hunt for Jake today. :( We did get to see the Easter bunny, which didn't go quite as well as expected either, and ride on the Easter Eggspress (which was Jake's favorite thing by far). We made the best of a dreary day, though, and had fun as a family.
Bed head!

Since I have to go to work tonight, we asked the Easter bunny to come a day early. The look on Jake's face was priceless...it was almost better than him waking up on Christmas Day to see what Santa had brought. Love it. Happy Easter!

Dying Easter Eggs

I love Easter! One of my favorite memories from childhood was dying Easter eggs with my family, and I couldn't wait til the day I could do it with my own family. We've been trying to prepare Jake for Easter, so I thought it was the perfect time to let him try out dying some eggs. He really enjoyed it; he definitely would have dyed everyone of the eggs blue if I would have let him, though! :) Oh, and speaking of the blue dye, thank goodness it's non-toxic because some little boy decided to DRINK IT! I turned my head for one second to get another egg, and when I turned back around, Jake had the blue cup turned up drinking it! I almost passed out! His lips are a lovely shade of blue now! :)

Stay tuned for more pictures from our weekend! I'm trying to stay caught up on my blogging... just in case. Have a great weekend!

Future so Bright...

...he's gotta wear shades!

Jake got a new pair of sunglasses, and he thinks he is big time. He has hardly taken them off all day! In fact, Tyson and Jake went with me for my OB appointment today, and Jake wanted to wear them the whole time we were in the office. Tyson seemed a little embarrassed by the sunglasses, so while I wasn't looking, the glasses somehow disappeared. :) Too cute...he loves trying to be like his daddy!
