Our First Trip to Fort Collins

Clearly, my boys were all really excited to be taking a picture first thing in the morning.
Our good friend from our old coaching days at Georgia Southern, Jeff Beckles, was in town also for the weekend.
As we were looking at houses, we were able to watch the sunset over the mountain.  Beautiful!
Colorado State's stadium.  It sits right at the foothills of the mountain.
"A" for Aggies, which was Colorado State's mascot back when they were an agricultural college.

I can't remember what Tyson called this place, but it was absolutely stunning, as you can tell by the pictures.

You could see out over the city of Fort Collins.
We climbed to the top of this little mountain, and Tyson and I were petrified that the boys would fall off.  Notice the death grip that Tyson has on the boys.  Hahaha.

"I'm the king of the mountain!"

 The football office
This is what Tyson calls "the mystery machine."  When they first moved to Colorado, all 5 of the new coaches rode around in this thing together.  Hahaha!
 Cam the Ram
Shooting hoops at the Colorado State basketball arena.

The snow was really starting to fall as we got to Denver Sunday night.

And this is what it looked like at our hotel Monday morning.  The boys were so excited!

The big boys and I flew out to Colorado this past weekend to visit Tyson in Fort Collins for the first time.  We had a few things on the agenda between the 4 of us: 1) find a house, 2) hike up a mountain, 3) play basketball on Colorado State's gym floor, 3) and SEE THE SNOW!  And we almost accomplished all of that!  (We're still working on the house part...it's a tough market out there!) and then some!  We also got to go to Tyson's office and watch spring mat drills, meet the coaches, and get a little workout in with some of the coaches for the Summers boys. :)

It was a very busy weekend and the kids and I are now sick as dogs, but I'm so glad we got to go.  The boys seem really excited about the move and they were so happy to see their Daddy. :)

Tyson Finally Came Home!!

It had been a little over 3 weeks since we had seen Tyson, and he finally came home this past weekend!  It was the absolute best weekend we've had in a long time...maybe ever.  As you can tell from the smiles above, my boys were in Heaven having their Daddy home.  He got to see them both play ball, and they both showed out for him.  It was such a great weekend!

Super Bowl Sunday

A little pregame warm up...Sno Cones!

Jake's eyes were closed, so I cropped him out.  It was just too cute of a pic of my little two.
Dance party on the coffee table before kick off.  Walker was bustin' some serious moves.
Jake dances like his daddy. Hahaha!

While the rest of America was enjoying their Super Bowl parties, the Summers boys and their mama were stuck at home in quarantine.  Anderson woke up yesterday with pink eye and then came down with the stomach virus later that night, so we played it safe and stayed home.  Anderson looks really sick in these pictures, right?  Hahaha!

Since the boys have been introduced to Madden (the NFL game on Wii and PlayStation), they are HUGE NFL football fans.  It's ridiculous how much they know about the NFL- they can tell you all about the teams, players, coaches, etc- things I have no idea about since I follow college football and not the NFL.  Anyways, they have been super pumped about this game.  For the past week, they've been playing the Seahawks versus the Patriots trying to see how this game would play out.  Hahaha.  I love it.

More Ball Games

Walker with his two best friends, Grant and Dalton.
 Summers to Braun. :)

My video camera cut off when Walker started running, but it continues below.

PaPa and Granddad loved their first basketball game!

Jake after diving in the mud pit.
I can't tell if he's more upset about fumbling the ball on the goal line or falling into the cold mud.
This is how small our little community is- that is Mrs. Janette to the far right.  She was Walker's teacher two years ago, she's our neighbor, and her son is on Jake's team. :)
Jake is notorious for rushing the quarterback, so the coaches finally learned that they just have to hold onto him until he's allowed to go.  Hahaha.
PaPa and Granddad also really enjoyed Jake's football game.

I can't believe it has taken me this long to get these pictures up.  Once I get the boys to bed, I'm just exhausted but still have to clean up, do laundry, unload the dishwasher, pack lunches, shower, and search the Internet to try to figure out this move.  Obviously, this blog has taken a backseat right now. :(

These pictures are from this past weekend when my parents were here.  Mom has an appointment tomorrow to get her PET scan results and to find out about the next course of treatment, so my parents wanted to get in one last trip to Orlando in the event that mom has to start chemo again immediately.

We had a great weekend together- the highlight was definitely the boys' games, though.  It was a crazy morning, so I'm very thankful my parents were there to help me.  Walker's game was up first, and he did not disappoint.  He didn't score quite as many baskets as the last game, but he still was the highest scoring on his team with about 5 baskets.  Then, we rushed to the football field just in time to see Jake's game get started.  Jake was awesome on defense as usual, but he had a few issues on offense.  He had an awesome (would be about 70 yards on a normal football field) touchdown run at the start of the game, but the ref said he stepped out of bounds around mid-field.  Boo!  And then, Jake was at quarterback and decided to keep the ball and run, which is against the rules.  Again, another touchdown called back.  He finally got the ball again on offense, didn't get any penalties, ran it all the way down untouched, and then he "tripped" (per Jake) and fumbled it on the goal line. (I'm pretty sure that he dove into the end zone trying to show off, but Jake swears he tripped).  Either way, Jake landed into a big ole mud pit and gave quite the show.  Hahahaha.

Thanks for coming, Mom and Dad!  We can't wait til y'all come back!

My Mailmen

I've always taken for granted having my very own mailbox in my very own yard until I moved here. Community mailboxes 100 yards from your house are for the birds. Good thing I have this cute thing to check my mail. :)

This is obviously not a very exciting post; I just figured I probably needed to get some pictures of Anderson since he'll be like 5 next week. :)

Things have been rough this week in the Summers' house.  I came down with a stomach virus out of no where and it put me out of commission for several hours mid-week.  Stomach viruses are my biggest fear as a football widow mama; I can usually push through anything, but not a stomach virus.  When the boys woke up that morning, I was literally laying on the bathroom floor and could barely lift my head up.  They were champs, though, and took care of themselves and each other- Walker fixed everyone breakfast while Jake got Anderson out of his crib and brought him downstairs, Jake fed Anderson, Jake and Walker got themselves completely ready for school, and they helped me get Anderson dressed and ready.  (The boys do a lot, but they don't change diapers). ;)  I was one sick but proud mama to see them work together and help each other out. :)

My good friends, Shelly and Michelle, helped me shuffle the kids off to their different schools and I was good to go by pick-up time.  There are no sick days for mamas. ;)

The next day, Walker came down with a fever virus and was pitiful for a good 24 hours or so.  Whew!  I sure hope we're done with the sicknesses for a while...this mama is tired!  And that's our exciting week!  We have some visitors coming to town this weekend, so I'll post more later.  Have a great weekend!
