Spring Break in Cochran

Carson, Chase, Jake, Spenser, Walker, and Ryleigh Kate

Getting ready for the Easter egg hunt...

My cousin, Chris, with 2 of his 3 boys and MaMa and Granddaddy...
 Christy with her 2...
And me, mom, and the boys with my grandparents.
We wish Connor, Jace, and Gracie were here for this picture!

While we were in St. Simons, we drove over to Cochran for the day to visit my grandparents and my cousins.  I haven't been to Cochran in soooo long, so it did my heart a lot of good to see my family.  My grandmother's Alzheimer's has progressed very rapidly, though, and she is to a point where she speaks very little.  She still knows who I am and gets around ok, but she is dependent on my granddaddy for everything else.  It makes me really sad to see her decline so quickly, and it breaks my heart for my granddaddy, who is such a noble person and refuses any help in caring for her. :(

Ok, enough with the sadness. We did get to see my cousins, Chris and Christy, and their kids (minus Connor).  Chris coincidentally took that day off work and brought his younger two to visit MaMa and Granddaddy, so that worked out well.  We had an impromptu Easter egg hunt in my grandparents' beautiful back yard and just enjoyed hanging out and talking.

I sure wish I could go to Cochran more often.  I miss my family so much!

The First Few Days of Spring Break

Blowing off leaves after a big storm came through.
Walker riding while his brother works.
This is a baby snapping turtle (on the piece of bread) that my mom found and convinced Jake to keep as a pet...until I released it back into the pond.  No snapping turtles for me, thank you!
Jake chasing the ducks...who then turned around and chased him!
A cold day at the pier!
 Jake and Granddad
 Granddad flying Walker's kite.
Jake was a pro at flying the kite!
 My baby!!

I have no idea what they're talking about here.  Looks very interesting!!

The boys and I spent their spring break last week in St. Simons Island, Ga with my parents.  I am so glad my parents were there because it ended up being super cold and rainy the whole week, so we had to scratch any beach plans and come up other things to do to keep us busy.

We definitely ate a lot of good food while we were in St. Simons, but we also spent a good amount of time just hanging out at the condo riding bikes, feeding the turtles, ducks, and fish, and playing baseball.  The pier also ended up being a fun source of entertainment- we flew kites one day when it was really windy and we played almost daily on the playground and enjoyed the ice cream shop nearby.   We even went over to Brunswick one morning to a place called "Katy's Castle," which is an indoor inflatable place.  It was a little pricey and didn't have quite as much to do as the places we're used to, but it ended up being the perfect entertainment for a few hours for the boys.

We went to Cochran on Wednesday to see my grandparents and cousins, so I'll post those pictures next. :)

Easter!

My new favorite picture of us taken by our 13 year old neighbor. :)
When did my baby get this big?  He turns the big 0-3 in 11 more days!!

Happy Easter!!  I'm definitely behind on posting our pictures from spring break, but I just had to post these precious pictures from our Easter today.

We started out the day with an awesome church service, and then we came home and dyed Easter eggs while Tyson pressure washed the patio.  After that, we went to my friend's Carol's house for an Easter lunch with friends.  We had a great time!

This Easter definitely goes down in the books as one of the best!  I hope everyone had a great Easter as well!!

Spring Break and Spring Practice!

While Tyson is hard at work at spring practice this week, the boys and I are on spring break!  I haven't been this excited about spring break in a while.  I just feel like we are just constantly on the go lately, so I'm ready to spend some much need quality time with my boys.  We're headed to St. Simons with my parents (hello grandparent time!), so I won't be blogging this week.  I hope everyone has a great week!  We're gonna miss you, Tyson!  Have fun at work so you can "pay for all of these toys." ;)

Baby #3 is...

A BOY!!!

Let me just begin by saying that I knew all along it was a boy; I've been looking at boys' names in the baby book and looking at baby boy bedding. However, as prepared in my mind as I was that it was probably another boy, nothing can describe the shock that I felt when the doctor told me it was definitely another boy! I don't know what came over me! Actually, I do. You see, Monday morning (the day of the ultrasound) started off with Jake breaking the toilet seat and Walker peeing all around the toilet like a dern fire hose! So when the doctor told me it was another boy, all I could think was "I've got at least 18 more years of this?" Hahaha!

I'll be honest, I know I'm gonna love having 3 little boys, but a part of me has always wanted a girl. Now, I'm not a girly-girl by any means, I just think it would be awesome to have both sexes and to be able to do "girl things." I think I am a really good boy mama, though, and I know God knows what He is doing. I guess I just thought that after having 2 boys, I'd just have a girl. Duh.

Walker is super excited that it's a little boy; Jake, on the other hand, said, "I've been praying for a girl...I'm so mad at God!" :( Poor kid! He's slowly coming around to the idea, though. They have both been super cute and love to sing to their brother and give him kisses. And those two (Jake and Walker) are truly the best of friends, and I know #3 will be, too.

So the question that I've already been asked at least 100 times- are we gonna try 1 more time for a girl? Whew! I don't know. I've always said I wanted 3, but Tyson really wants 4 regardless. My doctor is really pushing for me to have a tubal ligation after my c-section, though, so we'll see. Right now, I'm just gonna pray for a healthy baby and enjoy being a mama to my 2+1 boys. :)

Oh, and how could I forget about my hubby? Tyson is excited it's a boy! I think he would like to have a girl, but then again, his life just got a lot less stressful with it being a boy, if you know what I mean. ;) I do have to say, though, that the doctor did say it is early and it could change, but given how "well endowed" my son is, he doubts it could be a girl. Ha! The baby looked good otherwise- his heart rate was 156, he is measuring right on with my adjusted due date, and he was kicking up a storm.

I am set to see a perinatologist on April 15th for my big ultrasound, so prayers would be appreciated! Thanks!

Easter Egg Hunt!

Today was our church's Easter Egg Hunt, and boy, what a beautiful day it was for it!  And Tyson even got to go!  (Poor thing has been working like a dog since starting spring practice this week).

Walker's group, the 0-2 year olds went first.  Walker was a little cranky from being awaken from his nap to come to the Easter Egg Hunt, so he wasn't in the best of moods for hunting for eggs.  He still had fun nonetheless and racked up on prizes.  He finally started perking up towards the end when he got to play with some of his school friends on the bounce houses.

Jake's group, the 3-5 year olds, went second.  As Walker and I were turning in his eggs and collecting his prizes, Tyson took Jake and started scoping out all the eggs.  Tyson was actually coaching Jake up (pictured above) when we got there; I quickly had to remind my child (and husband) that it wasn't a race and it wasn't about who gets the most eggs.  Whatever- like father like child- Jake Summers is way too competitive for that!

All in all, it was an awesome day and a great weekend.  Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Grasshoppers and Hopwoods

 The Grasshoppers

Walker and Jake with Ella and Walker Hopwood

We had yet another fun weekend this past weekend.  After our adventures to Disney World on Friday, we woke up Saturday and went to Jake's t-ball game.  Walker was still exhausted from Friday night, so after the game, Tyson and Jake went to meet up with his cousins at a car show while I stayed home with a napping Walker.  On Sunday, we woke up and drove over to Reunion Resort in Kissimmee to see my best friend from college, Kaycee, who was in town visiting her family (her dad is the Braves coach).  Her parents' place has an awesome water park that we spent the entire day playing at.  I didn't take many pictures, but our kids had so much fun and enjoyed getting to play with Ella and Walker and their cousin.  I sure wish they lived closer...these 4 could get into a lot of trouble together! ;)
