"Best Friends Breakfast"

 My boys and me
 Kaitlyn got lei'd
Jake, Ryan, and Kaitlyn with Stitch.  Walker was at the table screaming his head off!!
 Lilo!!
 Mickey!!
Lilo again sans the Madden kids.
Mike was sweet enough to hold Walker for the picture with Pluto.

OMG!! We just had the best weekend!  Our best friends from Birmingham (who now live in South Carolina), the Maddens, came down to spend the weekend with us.  I have got a ton more pictures, but for right now, these are our pictures from the "Best Friends Breakfast" at the Polynesian Resort at Disney.

The Maddens weren't quite ready to take their crew to Disney just yet, so we thought a character breakfast might be a good way to see some of the characters and see a little bit of Disney without spending a fortune.  Our kids had fun and really enjoyed seeing Lilo & Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto.  Overall, though, I think the kids were just glad to be back together...FINALLY after a year!

More to come. :)

Third Time is a Charm!

 Introducing...
Baby Summers #3!

On January 4th, coincidentally Jake's 5th birthday, I woke up feeling pretty crummy (and had been for a few days) so I took a pregnancy test and the faintest of faint lines appeared!  I was in shock!  Tyson and I had been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months but we just weren't having any luck.  Starting in November, we had actually decided to "take a break" to avoid having a football season baby, and VOILA...here is baby #3 due September 14, right smack dab at the start of football season. :)  I call it our "bowl bonus" and our little "Christmas miracle." ;)  Isn't that the way it works- you try and try and nothing happens, but you take a break and then it happens.  Ha!

So back to finding out I was pregnant- Tyson was actually out of town recruiting that weekend, so I really wanted to wait to tell him in person that we were pregnant.  However, that faint line was really stressing me out.  I knew I would've been super early (day 21), but I couldn't tell if I was just seeing things and making up that line really being there.  Long story short, Tyson could tell something was wrong with me, and I finally caved around 10 pm that night and said, "I think I'm pregnant!"  He was in complete shock, too, needless to say.  I took another test the next day and the line was darker; I also took a digital test that day and it read "pregnant." :)

My doctor here won't see you until you are 8-10 weeks along, so my first appointment wasn't until Feb. 11.  I can't tell you how stressful that wait was; before, I've gotten to see all my babies by week 6.  Ugh!  But sure enough, Feb. 11 rolled around and we got to see that sweet heartbeat just a pounding away.  My due date based on my cycle should've been Sept. 21, but the baby was measuring a week ahead, so the doctor moved the due date up a week to Sept. 14.  I'm really not a big fan of them changing the due date based on the size of the baby because 1) I am 100% positive on my dates, 2) I have big babies and both boys always measured way ahead (at least a week or 2 by this point), and 3) just because the baby is big and measuring ahead doesn't mean the rest of it (ie lung maturity) will match that date.  Then again, I've delivered both boys at 38 weeks and haven't had any problems, so I guess one week won't hurt. :/ As of right now, the doctor thinks I will have my c-section Sept. 9 or 10.  If Coach O'Leary has his hand in it, he will pick the date and the time. ;)  Ha!

My doctor here is a lot different from my doctor in Birmingham; his practice is small (he's the only doc) and he isn't as aggressive as I would normally like.  We'll see, though.

The first few weeks were pretty rough and filled with lots of "vomitus", but it subsided by week 6 or so.  I know that's totally backwards, isn't it?  By the way, "vomitus" is my new word for the feeling of vomit coming up the back of your throat but never coming out.  And no, it is not the same as nausea.  I would mainly feel vomitus when I would pump gas, after I ate, and whenever I went down the frozen vegetable aisle at the grocery store.  Weird, huh?  Like I said, I've been feeling absolutely fine now though.  I am extremely exhausted, probably more so than I can ever remember being with the other two.  It got to the point one day where I fell asleep sitting in my car at 9 am one morning waiting for our neighborhood's gate to open!  It's ridiculous!  What else?  I feel like my face looks terrible and my hair is extra dry and my belly hasn't gotten HUGE FAST!!  I hear that's what happens with the third, and I'm here to tell you it is true!!

So I know the question everyone is dieing to know is- are we going to find out the sex?  I don't know.  I really don't want to, but Tyson and I are extremely impatient people and I don't think we can wait.  We'll see. ;)  I know I'm bad about guessing what my babies are, but I'm pretty sure this will be another boy.  I really don't care what the sex is, honestly.  I'd be lying if I said I didn't want a girl, but I think having 3 boys would be pretty awesome.  Like I said, we'll see. ;)

We would appreciate any prayers for this baby that you can send this way.  I'll keep y'all posted!  Thanks!!  Oh, and this was my new "hobby" I was talking about in a few posts back.  My new hobby is sleeping...all the time...whenever I can...even waiting for the gate to open. ;)

Hollywood Studios with Tyson!

 My boys and Mickey
 Wreck it Ralph
Playing on the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" playground

Watching a little Jedi training.  The boys LOVED this!!
Walker insisted on seeing Lightning McQueen and Mater.

Whew!  What a busy weekend we had!  Tyson had Friday through today off, so we used the time to rearrange/redecorate/refurnish the house.  It was absolutely exhausting, but we got it all done...kinda  We even had time to go to Coach O'Leary's son's wedding Saturday night, which was absolutely beautiful (and cold) by the way!  :)

Our goal was to be done with house stuff by today so we could take the kids to Disney, and we did!  We chose to go to Hollywood Studios since Tyson has never been.  As you may remember, Tyson isn't a big fan of the Magic Kingdom; however, Hollywood Studios was more his speed.  It was definitely more crowded (and chilly) than normal, but we still had a lot of fun.

We have another trip to Disney (well, a character meal) planned for this weekend as the Maddens come to visit, so stay tuned!

Flying Kites!

This is right after Walker let go of the string.  Bahaha!  The kite ended up getting stuck in a tree by the golf course, and Tyson chased it down and got it out of the tree. :)
Our last weekend with Sam. :(

Ugh!  Long time, no blog again!  I have a really excuse, though...I promise!  I have a new hobby that's been keeping me busy lately; I'll tell y'all more about that later.

This past weekend was the first full weekend Tyson had off since July!  He did have to go to the office for a few hours Saturday morning and Sunday night, but I will take what I can get!  We just mainly hung out and enjoyed the beautiful weather together.  My mom was also here, so that was just an added bonus.  It was a great weekend to say the least!

Hmm...what else have we been up to?  Tyson finished up recruiting last week with National Signing Day this past Wednesday.  He did an awesome job and we got a really good class for 2013!

Sam come back home to us at the end of last week after being on a 2.5 week "playdate."  We spent a good part of the weekend trying to find him a home and fast; Walker's allergies flared up as Sam stepped back into our house. :(  I posted something on facebook and had a call within minutes from a family from our church who live in our subdivision and already own a goldendoodle.  They fell in love with Sam immediately and took him home to live with them yesterday.  It was sad saying goodbye, but this family let us know that they are definitely interested in us staying in close contact.  It couldn't have worked out more perfectly even if I could've hand picked these people myself.

Other than that, all is going well. Jake is doing well at his new school and is adjusting well.  He starts t-ball this week and is moving up to "the big boy class" in karate this week as well.  Walker is also starting karate in the next few weeks, and he is sooo excited about it.  Jake's sensai lets Walker do the class now, but now Walker will now have his own karate uniform and white belt. :)  Life is about to get super busy again!  But I'm ready for it!

Lately...

 Besties
The big boys pulling up the little ones on the slide. :)
My ninja turtle's "signature move"

One of my friends let me know that I was being a slack blogger, so here you go. ;)  I have some good excuses for not blogging, though.

Tyson has been super busy recruiting this last month; he is usually gone all week long and then comes home and has recruits in town all weekend long.  I've gotten to go to some of the recruiting dinners, so that's been nice, but I'm just ready for Tyson be home.  This single mama stuff is for the birds.

It seems we've had lots of drama around here lately.  You see, our lease is up in this house here in a few weeks, so we've been house hunting pretty hard for another rental.  I just felt like we moved into this house pretty quickly without really looking around, and I just don't like this house.  Well, for some reason (maybe the market slowly returning and low interest rates), there aren't a lot of rental houses on the market right now in our area.  We found two that we liked, but they fell through.  Figures.  So now we've decided to stay in our current house and just fix a few things we don't like and make it home.

Speaking of house drama, our house in Birmingham is supposed to close March 1, but we'll see.  Our tenant has given us some problem$ in the past, so I can't imagine how in the world she'll get approved for the loan.  We'll see, though.  Any prayers would be appreciated in this area.

And speaking of even more drama, we were playing at one of Jake's school friend's house on Tuesday when we got word that their school was closing its doors on Thursday!  If you can remember, this school is the same school that I was saying at the beginning of the year that I had serious mom guilt for sending Jake to.  I should've trusted my gut then because sure enough, the crazy owner hadn't been paying her rent on the building so they had to shut it down!  Ugh!!  Talk about stress!!  Luckily, the original school that I had enrolled Jake at created 6 spots for our kids when they heard about the dilemma.  Four of Jake's best friends' mothers and I walked in and snatched up 5 of those spots and started the process of transferring his VPK voucher (kind of similar to going to the DMV and getting a new car tag).  Free Pre-K is awesome until you have to deal with that dang voucher!  Hahaha!  Anyways, Jake is all set to start his new school (only his 4th in a year) tomorrow, so prayers would be appreciated.  I think he'll be fine since 4 of his best friends will be there with him; I just feel so bad that he keeps having to change schools!!

What else?  I've been working hard trying to get all of our tax stuff ready to send off to our CPA, I've been searching pinterest hard for ideas to fix up this house, and I've been scouring the internet for new furniture. Other than that, we've been going on lots of bicycle rides, practicing t-ball since it starts soon, and just enjoying this beautiful Florida weather with our friends before it gets too hot!  Oh, and how could I forget?  We joined our church here!!! Well, in true coach's wife fashion, I attended the membership class by myself and was recognized at church by myself (well, with the boys by my side) since my hubby was working.  Hahahaha!  Poor Tyson misses out on everything!  It's a good thing our preacher is a huge football fan and still allowed Tyson to join even though he couldn't be there.

And then there is Sam.  Sweet boy is doing well at his new home; he had a hard time at first (wouldn't eat, had accidents) but is doing better now.  We should know in the next week or so if they intend to keep him.  Jake is doing better with that whole situation; he asked almost every day last week if we could go see him, so we did, and now he doesn't talk about Sam quite as much.

Well, I think that's it.  I promise I'll try to get back into the swing of blogging really soon.  I hope everyone is doing well!!

At my husband's request to move the "Sambo" post down a little further, here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving Day shoot for Christmas cards.  I was so disappointed with our little family of four shots, but overall, I think we got a few good ones of everyone else.  I especially love the group shot at the top of the whole family...I can't tell you how difficult it was to get that one good shot!  Hahaha!

P.S. This shoot inspired me to lose weight, which I did immediately afterwards, but you can't tell now. Ha!  Jeez...why didn't anyone tell me I looked like I ate two turkeys on Thanksgiving! ;)

Sambo

These pictures are from Sam's first birthday, December 15.  Due to a multitude of issues, we are in the process of finding Sam a new home. :(  We are absolutely heartbroken; Sam is such an awesome dog.  Right now he is staying with the family that dog-sits him to see if he can get along with their little dog.  I'm really hoping it works out with them- we're great friends, they live about 3 miles away from us, and Sam adores them as do they.  This is definitely one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. :(

Just Another Weekend in Orlando...

Jake and Shamu

Elmo and the Sesame Street Gang

Proof that Walker does exist :)

We had a pretty busy weekend this past weekend.  For some crazy reason, I decided to take the boys to SeaWorld on Saturday while Tyson was busy with his recruiting weekend, and then on Sunday, Tyson and I took the boys to the Magic Kingdom after church.  Why not live it up while we're here, right? ;)

One thing we really enjoyed at SeaWorld was seeing Elmo Rocks.  There was a meet and greet with Elmo after the show, but they cut the line off right as we got in line. :(  I had 2 very disappointed little boys.  (Walker, of course, wanted no part in getting a picture with Elmo, but he REALLY wanted Jake to get a picture...I think he lives vicariously through his brother with these character photos). ;)  We didn't stay too long at SeaWorld because it ended up getting really hot and I was drenched in sweat.

Since Tyson hasn't gone with us to any of the amusement parks in a while, Jake begged him to go with us "as a family" to Disney World.  I forget how much Tyson despises those types of places, but he made sure to remind me the whole time we were there.  Needless to say, between my 2 whiny children and my whiny husband, we cut our trip short and were in and out 2 hours.  Next time, I'm just gonna go by myself. ;)  Ha!
