Lately...

 Besties
The big boys pulling up the little ones on the slide. :)
My ninja turtle's "signature move"

One of my friends let me know that I was being a slack blogger, so here you go. ;)  I have some good excuses for not blogging, though.

Tyson has been super busy recruiting this last month; he is usually gone all week long and then comes home and has recruits in town all weekend long.  I've gotten to go to some of the recruiting dinners, so that's been nice, but I'm just ready for Tyson be home.  This single mama stuff is for the birds.

It seems we've had lots of drama around here lately.  You see, our lease is up in this house here in a few weeks, so we've been house hunting pretty hard for another rental.  I just felt like we moved into this house pretty quickly without really looking around, and I just don't like this house.  Well, for some reason (maybe the market slowly returning and low interest rates), there aren't a lot of rental houses on the market right now in our area.  We found two that we liked, but they fell through.  Figures.  So now we've decided to stay in our current house and just fix a few things we don't like and make it home.

Speaking of house drama, our house in Birmingham is supposed to close March 1, but we'll see.  Our tenant has given us some problem$ in the past, so I can't imagine how in the world she'll get approved for the loan.  We'll see, though.  Any prayers would be appreciated in this area.

And speaking of even more drama, we were playing at one of Jake's school friend's house on Tuesday when we got word that their school was closing its doors on Thursday!  If you can remember, this school is the same school that I was saying at the beginning of the year that I had serious mom guilt for sending Jake to.  I should've trusted my gut then because sure enough, the crazy owner hadn't been paying her rent on the building so they had to shut it down!  Ugh!!  Talk about stress!!  Luckily, the original school that I had enrolled Jake at created 6 spots for our kids when they heard about the dilemma.  Four of Jake's best friends' mothers and I walked in and snatched up 5 of those spots and started the process of transferring his VPK voucher (kind of similar to going to the DMV and getting a new car tag).  Free Pre-K is awesome until you have to deal with that dang voucher!  Hahaha!  Anyways, Jake is all set to start his new school (only his 4th in a year) tomorrow, so prayers would be appreciated.  I think he'll be fine since 4 of his best friends will be there with him; I just feel so bad that he keeps having to change schools!!

What else?  I've been working hard trying to get all of our tax stuff ready to send off to our CPA, I've been searching pinterest hard for ideas to fix up this house, and I've been scouring the internet for new furniture. Other than that, we've been going on lots of bicycle rides, practicing t-ball since it starts soon, and just enjoying this beautiful Florida weather with our friends before it gets too hot!  Oh, and how could I forget?  We joined our church here!!! Well, in true coach's wife fashion, I attended the membership class by myself and was recognized at church by myself (well, with the boys by my side) since my hubby was working.  Hahahaha!  Poor Tyson misses out on everything!  It's a good thing our preacher is a huge football fan and still allowed Tyson to join even though he couldn't be there.

And then there is Sam.  Sweet boy is doing well at his new home; he had a hard time at first (wouldn't eat, had accidents) but is doing better now.  We should know in the next week or so if they intend to keep him.  Jake is doing better with that whole situation; he asked almost every day last week if we could go see him, so we did, and now he doesn't talk about Sam quite as much.

Well, I think that's it.  I promise I'll try to get back into the swing of blogging really soon.  I hope everyone is doing well!!

At my husband's request to move the "Sambo" post down a little further, here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving Day shoot for Christmas cards.  I was so disappointed with our little family of four shots, but overall, I think we got a few good ones of everyone else.  I especially love the group shot at the top of the whole family...I can't tell you how difficult it was to get that one good shot!  Hahaha!

P.S. This shoot inspired me to lose weight, which I did immediately afterwards, but you can't tell now. Ha!  Jeez...why didn't anyone tell me I looked like I ate two turkeys on Thanksgiving! ;)

Sambo

These pictures are from Sam's first birthday, December 15.  Due to a multitude of issues, we are in the process of finding Sam a new home. :(  We are absolutely heartbroken; Sam is such an awesome dog.  Right now he is staying with the family that dog-sits him to see if he can get along with their little dog.  I'm really hoping it works out with them- we're great friends, they live about 3 miles away from us, and Sam adores them as do they.  This is definitely one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. :(

Just Another Weekend in Orlando...

Jake and Shamu

Elmo and the Sesame Street Gang

Proof that Walker does exist :)

We had a pretty busy weekend this past weekend.  For some crazy reason, I decided to take the boys to SeaWorld on Saturday while Tyson was busy with his recruiting weekend, and then on Sunday, Tyson and I took the boys to the Magic Kingdom after church.  Why not live it up while we're here, right? ;)

One thing we really enjoyed at SeaWorld was seeing Elmo Rocks.  There was a meet and greet with Elmo after the show, but they cut the line off right as we got in line. :(  I had 2 very disappointed little boys.  (Walker, of course, wanted no part in getting a picture with Elmo, but he REALLY wanted Jake to get a picture...I think he lives vicariously through his brother with these character photos). ;)  We didn't stay too long at SeaWorld because it ended up getting really hot and I was drenched in sweat.

Since Tyson hasn't gone with us to any of the amusement parks in a while, Jake begged him to go with us "as a family" to Disney World.  I forget how much Tyson despises those types of places, but he made sure to remind me the whole time we were there.  Needless to say, between my 2 whiny children and my whiny husband, we cut our trip short and were in and out 2 hours.  Next time, I'm just gonna go by myself. ;)  Ha!

Ok, so I know this may be picture overload, but I couldn't resist the cuteness of my boys helping each other out.  Walker just finally figured out how to ride the bicycle, and Jake insisted on giving him a starting push.  So, so sweet!!  And it is so fun now that Jake can ride his bike by himself and Walker can ride with training wheels!  I see a lot more biking adventures in our future!!

Jake's 5th Birthday!

Celebrating Jake's birthday with his karate class.

Jake's Beyblade birthday cake that I made him.  He thought it was the most awesome thing ever!

As if we haven't celebrated Jake's birthday enough, when his actual birthday came around (last Friday January 4th), we did a little bit more celebrating. :)  Tyson was out of town recruiting, so it was just me and the boys for the day.

Jake woke up to find this cake that I baked for him along with his final birthday present, a tablet.  Yep, I let him eat cake for breakfast; you only turn 5 once. ;)  We were supposed to go to Disney, but it turned out to be a yucky day, so we played with Jake's new tablet and then went to the movies.  It was a very much needed, low-key day, and Jake was perfectly fine with that.  He kept telling me all day, "this is the best birthday ever...you are the best mother ever!" Ha!

Happy New Year!!

Capitol One Bowl Game

Tyson and I figured out that this was the first college football game and only the 3rd football game we've been to together.  This is a bad photo, but it's historical so it had to be done. ;)
Dierks Bentley!

Since Tyson and I celebrated our 6th anniversary (December 30th) at the Nick Hotel for Jake's birthday, we decided we would make Georgia's bowl game our anniversary date.  My cousin, Trey, and his girlfriend Holly ended up coming with us, too, so it wasn't so much of a date, but it was a kidless date, nonetheless.

Speaking of the kids, I had secured a babysitter for the game the week before with a college girl that I've used many times before.  Well, 11 am hit, and no babysitter; I started calling and texting her, but no response.  Finally, I get a text back from her phone...but from a bar manager!  Turns out our sitter had a little too much fun on New Years and left her phone, keys, and purse at the bar.  So needless to say, our sitter was a no-show.  Ugh!!  Luckily, though, our awesome neighbors volunteered to take the boys at the last minute, though.  We ended up being late to the game, however, which was probably a good thing since it was so stinkin' hot at that game!!  Ha!

Go Dawgs!  And happy anniversary, Tyson!!!
