Coco

Meet the newest member of the family, Coco!  Coco is a 4th generation labradoodle and is "hypoallergenic."  I did get to see her parents and neither of them shed, so maybe there is some truth to her being hypoallergenic for Walker's sake.  So far so good, though!  She alternates between staying in an office in our garage that has heat/AC and outside, and I think that has made the difference.  She's an awesome dog.  All 3 of the boys are over the moon with this dog.

Terrance Plummer (TP), one of Tyson's former UCF players and now a Minnesota Viking, came to visit us and speak to the Georgia Southern football team.  He came the night before to stay with us, see the kids, and read to Jake's class for Read Across America.  My boys were ECSTATIC to see TP!  He calls Tyson and I "Pops and Mama" and he treats the boys like they're his little brothers.  I just love TP- he is honestly one of the smartest, most well-mannered, genuine, caring people I've ever been around.  I'm so proud of him reaching his dreams to play in the NFL, but I'm even prouder of the person he's become.

Anderson couldn't say "granddaddy," so he kept calling my granddaddy "PaPa's daddy."  Hahaha!  My granddaddy loved it and thought it was so cute!!  I think Anderson is going to be a granddaddy's boy just like his mama is a granddaddy's girl. ;)

First of all, can I mention how excited we are to be back in Georgia?  I put my last post up without explaining what we've been up to for the last month...WE ARE HOME!!!  It's been a busy month of packing up, moving out, flying south, living in a hotel for about a week, getting the new house ready, waiting on the movers, making friends, waiting on the movers more, unpacking boxes, starting school, figuring out our way around, and getting settled into a routine.  We had lots of work done on our house and it'll be an ongoing project for a while, but we're as settled as we can be for now.  The boys are all loving school and have already made lots of new friends, and we have the BEST neighbors!  We have played outside with them almost everyday- I'm sure y'all will meet them on the blog soon enough.  Anyways, all is well in the Boro!!

This past weekend, my dad had to go out of town, so he asked me if I could go stay with my mom. Of course I could!!  Tyson took the weekend off and we made a weekend trip out of it.  It was so good to see my mama.  She actually sat outside with us almost the whole day Saturday and watched the boys play; I think it did her a lot of good to get out of the house, get some Vitamin D, and be around the Summers crew again.  :)  I'm so excited to be so close to be able to make these frequent trips to see her and my dad!

First Pitch

Last Wednesday, February 24th, Tyson and the boys threw out the first pitch at Georgia Southern's home baseball opener against Georgia Tech.  The Eagles lost 6-5 in 16 innings, but it wasn't because of the lack of awesomeness of the first pitch.  Anderson went first (unfortunately I didn't have my video camera recording that early) and was precious; the ball only went a few feet and then rolled until the catcher came and got it.  Someone yelled out, "give him a scholarship, Coach!"  Hahaha!  Then, Walker and Jake went and they both threw perfect strikes.  As Tyson was backing up to the mound, Anderson got a ball and decided to throw it again, which the crowd thought was pretty funny.  Tyson's pitch was a little high, but overall, all four of my boys did a great job!!

 There are so many things I love about this picture- real smiles from my boys, the mountains in the background, the snow on the ground, Anderson's zipper is down.  Haha! I think he just had gone potty and mama forgot to zip his pants up.  He kept saying, "I go poop in da potty at da Bobo house."  Hahaha!

 This is precious to me.  The women were talking, and we look over and see Coach Friend, Jake, and Coach Bobo with their hands over their hearts during the National Anthem.

I've never been much of an NFL fan, partly because I follow college football so much that I just don't think I could do both.  I do keep up with our former players in the league, but I've never really claimed a specific team.  Well, you can't live in Fort Collins and NOT be a Broncos fan.  Haha!  These people here aren't big college football fans, but they live, eat, and breathe everything Broncos, and we've fallen into that trap.  Even one of the other coaches' wives said, "I've never really cared about the NFL until I moved here." Ha!  Yep, feeling is mutual.  Anyways, we were stoked to cheer on our Broncos to a Super Bowl victory!

 

We spent Super Bowl Sunday with the Bobos and the Friends, and it was also our last time seeing the Bobos. :(  I can't tell y'all how sad I am to leave Lainie, Mike, and the kids.  Their kids are the absolute best!  I mean, there are 5 of them, so chances are good that at least one of them will get along with one of the Summers boys.  Haha!  (As I was buying cupcakes for the party, Walker said, "make sure to get a lot of cupcakes cause the Bobos have a lot of kids.") Hahaha!  Man, I'm going to miss them.

 

This will probably be my last post from Colorado unless something pops up over the next few days.  The movers are coming to pack us Wednesday and Thursday and load us on Friday; then, we're flying to Georgia on Saturday.  Woo hoo!  We're almost there!

Sledding!

 

Between Monday and Tuesday of this past week, it snowed 13.5 inches!  A big chunk of that came overnight Monday, so school ended up being cancelled for the boys.  I can't believe that Fort Collins hasn't had a snow day in years, and we move here and they have 2!  Haha!

I can't begin to tell y'all how much snow 13.5 inches is; it was so high and so powdery that it was so hard to walk in.  But, we decided to make the most of the day and met several of the coaches' wives for some sledding at a nearby park.  (I've definitely overcome my fear of driving in the snow and ice since living here; thank goodness for 4 wheel drive and some crash courses in snow/mountain driving!)

Anyways, we had a great time sledding!  Like I said, the snow was very difficult to walk in, and Walker and Anderson couldn't even move at some points.  Haha!  It was definitely a workout, but oh so much fun once we made some trails.

Anderson didn't last very long out there- he couldn't walk so he kept having to being pulled on the sled (see above with Walker trying to pull him).  Well, he was a slippery little booger and kept falling off.  And then, I took him and Walker down on the sled (see the first video above), and Anderson got snow thrown in his face.  He ended up face planting as he got off the sled; it was over after that.  Haha!  I took him back to the car to thaw out while the boys stayed and played with their friends.  So much fun!  So much snow!!
