Whose Birthday Is It?

It's Almost Game Time!

The coaches' kids play a little football while they wait for the players.
 Huddle huddle must be trouble.
 Anderson and Eli Letson
Anderson was ready for practice to get over with so he could see his Daddy.
Getting ready to hand out candy to the players!
 Crush the Tigers!
 Daddy!!

Anderson wasn't into handing out the candy- he'd rather suck his thumb and give the players knuckles. :)

First Day of School x 2

First day of second grade for Jake!

This is his teacher, Mrs. Langford, who is filling in while his teacher is on maternity leave.
First day of Kindergarten for Walker!

 Waiting on the bus!

Look at how excited Walker was!!

Do you see that sweet face?
Do you see that sweet hand?
Yes, I was the crazy mom who let her kids get on the bus and then met them at the school.  Haha!
 Walker and Mrs. Busselman

He was just as excited to get off the bus!

School is in session!!  Woo hoo for this stay at home!!

Jake started school this past Monday, August 24th, so I'll start with him.  First of all, Jake knew no one in his class, so he was extra nervous.  Luckily, though, his teacher knew that we were new to town (and the state and the region), so she made sure to help Jake meet some friends.  His desk is right next to another shy little boy who loves football- a match made in heaven!  Jake has also made another new friend in his class thanks to mom and her mad skills- as I was dropping him off on the second day, I noticed the little boy was wearing a Denver Broncos shirt.  Well, I went up to him and said, "do you like the Broncos?  Jake's dad met Peyton Manning a few weeks ago!"  The little boys eyes were HUGE after that, and all of a sudden, Jake had a new friend.  Whatever it takes to get my introverted child some friends! ;)  Oh and another funny story from Jake's second day- Jake came home so excited to tell me that he had made quite the impression on his class. The teacher let them play the "obnoxious noise game" and Jake showed the class that he could make tooting noises with his armpits AND his legs.  Bam!  Coolest kid ever!  Hahaha!  He also made a few new friends after that. ;)

Walker started school this past Wednesday, August 26th.  In this school district, they stagger the kindergarten start days so as to give more 1 on 1 attention to the Kindergartners.  It was KILLING Walker that Jake got to start school 2 more days before he did.  Ha!  By the time Wednesday rolled around, Walker could barely stand it and was so excited to start school.  He has a little boy in his class, Ethan, that he had made friends with at the gym over the summer, so he was pumped about being with him.  Ethan even sat with Walker at the peanut-free table just to keep Walker company. I think the long days have been hard for Walker, but other than that, he seems to really like Kindergarten.

Can I just say how happy I am that Jake and Walker are in school together?  Other than the obvious that they are now on the same schedule and in the same place, but it has really helped them having each other there...at their new school.  They sit on the bus together, they hang out together before school on the playground, and they play together at recess.  I have told them that they eventually need to make new friends and branch out a little, but I'm glad they can depend on each other and have that familiarity for now.

Mary Ann Visits, Bobos Sleepover, and Players Eat

We took Mary Ann to the top of Horsetooth, but there has been a haze from the fires in the West that made for poor visibility.  It was still beautiful, though.
The Summers boys had their first sleepover at our house this past weekend with Drew and Jake Bobo.  Other than the fact that the Jakes woke up at 6 am Saturday morning, the sleepover went great.
 Fake sleeping.
 Definitely not sleeping.
Jumping on the pallet which turned into a pillow fight.
We had a few of the safeties over for supper this weekend to celebrate the end of camp.  Jack (who is from Laguna Beach- how cool is that?), Marcus, J Bo, Jake Schlager, Tyson, and Coach Stacciotti in the back with Justin Sweet, Walker, and Jake in the front.

Tour of the House

I still need to decorate the kitchen, but here it is for now.

I'll tell y'all what- that fireplace area was hard to figure out what to do with!  It's such a weird little area!
I'm still waiting on a rug for this room.  Everyone says we'll need one once winter hits to help warm up the house.
This is the "leftover furniture" room, and it so happens to be the first room (on the left) that you see when you walk in the front door.
This is the dining room. It is the other room (to the right) that you see when you walk in the front door.
This is the guest bedroom in the basement (aka the Lego room).  There is also a guest bedroom upstairs, but I didn't get a picture of it.
This is Anderson's play area in the basement.  That door to the left is a storage room that could be another bedroom; there is also another storage room in the basement that could be another bedroom. That door on the right holds the AC and water heater.
This is the living area of the basement.  Most all of the boys' toys are down here as is the PS4.  It's soooooo nice not having to deal with their toys on the main living area.

I love this little bench on the stairs.  The boys love standing on it and looking out.
This is Anderson's bathroom.  It's my "ode to Florida" room.
 Jake and Walker's room.

Jake and Walker's bathroom.  Like the Denver Broncos décor?
Anderson's room.  This room is called "my mama didn't want to decorate too much because I need a big boy room soon."

The house is still a work in progress, but I wanted to get these pictures while the house was clean.  Hahaha!  Tyson's mom is coming today and the football players are coming over this weekend, so I forced the boys to help me clean up.  Enjoy!
