Toofies

While this one is losing teeth...
...this one is trying to knock his teeth out.*
...and this one just wants a few more teeth so he can eat some steak.

*The second we walked into my parents' condo at the beach last weekend, Walker went straight to the bathroom, tripped, and busted his mouth on the toilet.  I can't begin to explain how bad he was bleeding, and of course, we were the first ones there and the closest help was at least an hour or two away.  I was freaking out.  Luckily, I was able to get it to stop bleeding long enough to snap a picture and send it to our pediatrician.  How awesome is that?  The doctor called me and said that he should be fine but might lose his two front teeth. :(  Walker, of course, was thrilled at the thought of losing his teeth like his big brother.  Haha!  So far, though, there has been no visits from the tooth fairy for Walker and I pray it stays that way for at least another year. ;)

Anderson Turns 1!

Anderson turned 1 this past Thursday, Sept. 4.  We had already celebrated his birthday with my family the weekend before, but I couldn’t not celebrate his birthday on the real day. So, we had our neighbors, the Sperrys, over for cupcakes and presents.  Anderson dug in to his cupcake like he was an old pro.  We’ll probably celebrate his birthday one more time this weekend when Tyson is home so that Tyson can see Anderson smash the cake.

At Anderson’s 1 year check up, he weighed 23 lb 12 oz (85%), was 31 inches tall (90%), and had a head circumference of 47 inches.  Just for comparison, here is how Anderson measures up to his brothers:

Jake: 23 lbs 14.5 oz and 30.5 inches
Walker: 24 lbs 8 oz and 32.5 inches
Anderson: 23 lbs 12 oz and 31 inches

For the record, I took Anderson to the doctor a few weeks ago for a sick visit and he weighed 24 lbs 8 oz.  It was the same scale and all, so he’s obviously lost a little weight.  The doctor thinks it was the sickness plus the transition from formula to milk and bottle to sippy cup.

Speaking of bottles and formula, Anderson has definitely been giving me a run for my money in trying to transition to milk and a sippy cup these past few weeks.  I finally just went cold turkey on his birthday and cut him off from bottles and formula, and he did just fine!  Whew!  What a relief to be done with that!

What else is going on with Anderson?  Well, he’s definitely not walking; he has just started really standing alone this past week, so I guess it will probably be another month or so before he walks.  He’s not as big of a talker as his big brothers were- he says mama, da da, bye bye, hey, and dah (which stands for dog and ball).  He mainly just sits there and smiles or sucks his thumb (woe is me on that dang thumb).  Let’s see, other than the normal stuff babies do at this age, here are some things that stand out to me: he is a HUGE mama’s boy who insists on being held all the time, prefers going to men than women, would be attached to my leg if he could, refuses to have any kinds of attachment object and will throw everything out of his crib if you try, would suck his thumb 24/7 if I let him, has 7 teeth, LOVES to dance (he shakes his head side to side while popping his booty at the same time), calls Jake “da da,” seems to be really tough and will let his brothers know when he wants to be left alone, calls my phone “da da,” and has the most awesome receding hairline for a 12 month old.  And as far as his personality, I think Anderson falls in the middle- he’s not as laid back and as easy-going as Walker, but he’s not as stubborn and determined as Jake.

Ok, I'm tired of writing.  I'll write more later.  Ha!  Happy birthday, Anderson!!

Family Beach Pictures

Note to self: do not waste your time by going on the beach for a good picture, just walk out the back door! The beach= sandy kids with squinty eyes.  Ha!

For real, I love these pictures of my family.  I just wish I would've gotten a better picture with my mom and a picture with my kids, but I was too busy playing photographer to pay attention to how I looked.  Oh well, we'll just have to do it on the next trip. :)

Anderson's 1st Birthday Bash at the Beach

Jace, Walker, Ryleigh Kate (my cousin's daughter), Anderson, Jake, and Gracie
My mom and dad join in.
Anderson's smash cake.  I completely forgot to take a picture of the other cake, but it was really cute, too.
Ryleigh Kate had to hold Anderson back. Ha!

We had just gotten back from the beach and Anderson had missed his nap, so he is a little sleepy in these pictures.

It didn't take him long to dig right in and LOVE it!  He fussed when I took the cake away. Ha!

 The cousins

 Chase busted the pinata open.
 Jace knocked it down.

Sorry for the blog hiatus.  Tyson left for Ireland last week for the UCF-Penn State game, and I threw myself a little pity party.  I was supposed to go on the trip to Ireland and my parents were going to keep the kids, but I had to cancel the trip once we received the cancer diagnosis.  My sister, cousin Christy, and several other friends offered to keep the boys, but I would have had to split the boys up and it just got to be too much trying to coordinate all 3 to go 3 different ways for 6 days.  I was so bummed to miss the trip of a lifetime, but I was more bummed at the reason I was missing it- stupid cancer.

Fortunately, though, I got to spend the weekend with my family instead.  We all met up in St. Simons and celebrated Anderson's 1st birthday, watched football, and played at the beach.  Mom had just finished up her 4th round of chemo, so she felt pretty puny and wasn't able to do too much.  But as always, I'm just so thankful for that time together.

I have a few more pictures to post, so check back soon!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub...Three Summers Boys in a Tub

Guess who made it almost 2 full hours at school Wednesday before mama got the "come pick up your crying baby" phone call?  THIS KID!!  Woo hoo!  He probably could have made it a little longer, but the teachers said he wouldn't let them put him down.  Yep, I know the feeling. :)
 Good thing he's super cute!
The big boys normally take showers instead of baths, but Anderson got some new bath toys, so the big boys wanted to help him break them in.
Anderson wasn't very excited to share his bath tub or his bath toys.  Then again, he was also getting squirted in the head by a certain blond-headed brother.
