Trip to Thomaston to See Mom

The Grands!  Jake (6), Anderson (10 mos), Jace (5), Walker (4), and Gracie (2)
Anderson playing with mom's oxygen tubing...cause that's safe, right?
 Walker with my mom
Walker with Santa, who stays up year round in the basement just to scare you as you walk down to do laundry late at night in the pitch black.
 My Granddaddy with my Anderson
My kids were obsessed with the slide.

My mom's parents :) And yes, I look disgusting.  I'm pretty sure I cried about 75% of that day.
Chillaxin in the shade.

We just got back from a trip to Thomaston, Ga to see my mom.  Sadly, it was the first time I've been to Thomaston since January of 2012 and even longer since Tyson has been there.  It was a very long drive, but we made it and I'm so glad we went.  Mom was feeling pretty puny and slept a good bit, but I cherish every minute we get with her.

We also got to see my grandparents while we were there.  My grandmother is really going downhill, but I'm glad my Granddaddy made the effort to come see us.  It's just a sad, sad situation all the way around right now. Between my mom and my grandma, I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest and stomped on.  Life will never be the same. :(

St. Simons: Part 2

Darth Anderson

Happy 4th of July!

My little spidey star.
Miss America
Tyson's best friend, Worth and his family.  The Summers boys do LOVE some Bowers girls.

The baby race.
And they're off!!  Well, Mack is. ;)
Anderson is gaining on him...
...until Jake pushes Anderson and makes him faceplant into the sand.
Mack wins!!
Anderson finishes the race.
Emma and Walker.
Bahaha!
A wagon ride on the beach.
My boys are obsessed with tie dye right now.

St. Simons: Part 1

Why do my boys always appear happier when I'm not in the picture?
 See what I mean? Ha!

Sweet baby got a little sunburned on his receding hairline the first day we were on the beach; the hat became a necessity thereafter.
The Berrymans, Summers, and Bowers- our faux family.
Tyson's best friend's son, Mack. He's two weeks older than Anderson and obviously has a lot more hair.  Anderson is a little envious of Mack's beautiful blond locks.

 Jake the boogy boarder.

 Me and my mama. :)

We just got back from our beach "vacation."  It was hardly a vacation, though.  Tyson had to drive back to Orlando to work one day, I drove back and forth to Thomaston to see about my mama, we drove to Ponte Vedra for a wedding over the weekend, I ended up in the ER with a kidney stone...I think Tyson, the boys, and I were only all together for about 3 whole days out of the 10 that we were there.  It was a change of scenery, nonetheless, and a break from reality.  Plus, we were surrounded by a beautiful beach, good friends and family, and yummy food.  It was pretty awesome, even with all the craziness.  I'll write more later; we just got home and I'm exhausted.  I hope everyone had a great week and 4th of July!

Jake's First Stitches

My pretty boy.  He was so worried that you'd be able to see the stitches when you looked at his face.

Well, we made it 6.5 years with no stitches for the Summers' boys...until now.  I think that's pretty impressive for 3 very rough and tough little boys!

Here's how it went down- I was at a doctor's appointment dealing with a dang complication from my c-section and my friend was watching the older two boys.  Right before the doctor walked in, I got the phone call from my panicked friend, "Jake slipped in the pool and busted his chin open...he needs stitches!"  I kindly apologized to the doctor and bolted as quickly as I could; I'm not one to panic, but my friend (who is a mother of 4) sounded panicked.  Jake was panicked.  Scratch that- Jake was hysterical.

I met my friend's hubby at the pediatrician's office and our awesome doctor stitched it right up.  There was definitely some drama, though, from my Jake as he was being held down by 6 nurses, 1 doctor, and 1 mama.  Luckily, no potty words came from his sweet little mouth, but he did say "GO AWAY YOU MONSTERS!"  and "I'LL GIVE YOU ALL MY MONEY NOT TO DO THIS!" Hahaha!  After he got the lidocaine, he calmed down and apologized to the doctors and nurses and even told the doctor, "you were right," which he thought was super cute.  When it was all done (and we were all sweaty messes from holding my strong boy down), Jake said "that wasn't so bad."  Ha!  I told him to remember that the next time he has to get stitches or when his little brothers have to because this will NOT be our last time.  Life with boys.

UCF After VBS

The older two boys went to Vacation Bible School this week next to Tyson's office, so everyday when we got done, I'd pick them up (and the Sperry's, too) and take them to see Tyson.  Well, of course, they wanted to go play football, tackle the dummies, run from one end to the next, etc.  I think they had a good time. ;)

The Calm Before the Storm

 I caught Walker dancing. Haha!
 Naked baby!
 My boys!

 The littles.

Muscle men.

June has been an absolutely crazy month between moving, shuffling the boys to different summer camps, learning of mom's diagnosis, and dealing with Tyson's crazy hours (camps every weekend, late night functions multiple times a week, hosting recruits).  I'm so over June, but I'm afraid the craziness is just beginning.  My parents should be arriving at my house sometime today, and we have a day full of doctors' appointments tomorrow.  We'll see what the doctor says, but from what we've heard, this type of cancer usually involves a big surgery right off the bat.  I'm absolutely dreading it for my mom. :(  Anyways, more on this later.  For now, we're just trying to enjoy our weekend and the calm before the storm.
