The Big 7-0

 The cake Walker picked out.
My Dad with Walker and Jake.
This is Walker's new signature smile...you'll see more of it in pictures to come.

 Blowing out the candles.

This last week, the boys and I met my parents in St. Simons to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday.  We haven't gotten to see my dad since April, so it was a long, overdue trip.  I have a ton of pictures for y'all, but I'm going to spread them out so as to not overwhelm you. (Y'all know how I like to take pictures at the beach!) ;)

My dad's birthday was actually August 6th, but the kids really wanted to be able to sing to him and give him a birthday cake.  They had originally planned to give him a Dora and Diego cake, but Harris Teeter didn't have the design, so a football player was their 2nd choice. ;)

The boys were adorable about dad's birthday- I asked Jake what he thought Granddad would like and he said 1) Hot wheels cars (since that is what dad always plays with with the boys) and 2) toothpicks (because my dad always has one in his mouth).  And so, that is what dad got from the boys- toothpicks and Hot Wheels cars. I thought that was extremely thoughtful of my big boy.

I really wish Dad would've let us do something better for his birthday, but I'm pretty sure between the cake, the singing, the unique presents, and a lot of fun in the sun with his Grandkids, my Dad had a pretty good little birthday.  Happy 70th, Dad!!!

The Many Faces of "Coach"

I call this one the "give me a break" face...I do see it often. ;)
Bahaha!  Luckily, the kids and I don't get to see this "ugly screaming face" too often.
I don't know what to call this...I guess it's the "background face."  "Background face" appears from around the corner when Mommy tries to sneak some M&M's from Walker's potty prize stash.  Hahaha!
We miss your face, Tyson!

My Littlest Fish

Coach Ann said Walker smiles too much for swim lessons. :)

 Coming up for air.
Jake had to come check on his brother.

We have another swimmer in our house!!  I am completely shocked that Walker has picked up swimming so quickly, but he has and he's actually pretty good at it.  And to think, I wasn't even going to sign him up for swim lessons this summer!  Had the swim coach not made me feel terrible for putting him in puddle jumpers and convinced me to sign him up, I would have never known I had another little fish on my hands.  Who knows...he could be the next Michael Phelps!  (Well, maybe not quite that big but he definitely has a better smile). ;) It was definitely the right move, though, considering how much water we're constantly around.  I'm so proud of my little man!

SeaWorld Solo

 Jake and Shamu...
Jake and Shamu watching Walker throw a royal fit!  Hahaha!

 Petting the Stingrays.

Please excuse the chocolate all over Walker's face and shirt and the diet coke in Jake's hand.  Don't judge.
Dancing. :)

Well, it's that time of year again (ie football season and single motherhood season), so I'm going to be venturing out more on my own.  The first place I thought I'd try by myself is SeaWorld, and things went well for my first solo trip.   The boys were awesome, especially considering the 94 degree heat and the massive amount of sweat pouring off our bodies.  It really made for great pictures...well, that, the diet coke, and the chocolate.  Ha!

We didn't get quite as much accomplished at SeaWorld as I would've liked; I kind of forgot to take into account in my planning that I would be pushing that 30 lb stroller with about 80 lbs of kids in it and carrying a big ole heavy backpack in that heat.  Whew!  Anyways, Jake really enjoyed petting the stingrays and Walker really enjoyed his icecream. :)  However, they both said their favorite part of the day was walking on top of the sharks in the aquarium.

Such a fun day with my two favorite guys. :)
