My mom, the boys, and I visited Sprewell Bluff State Park near my parents' house in Thomaston, Ga. I've only been there a handful of times, and it sure enough showed...we looked like such city folks! I pretty much dressed the boys as if they were going to the pool, not a river.
Poor Walker hated walking on the rocks and sand, so we just sat him down in the shallow end and let him go to town throwing an endless amount of rocks. Jake was a little hesitant about walking on the rocks at first, but he quickly warmed up to the idea. He had a blast throwing rocks, too. In fact, I was out in the most rapid part of the river trying to take some pictures of the boys, and I noticed through my lens that a rock was headed my way...right at my face. I quickly jumped out of the way to dodge the rock, lost my balance, and found myself about to be carried off down stream. Luckily, my mom managed to grab me before my camera and I were swept away, but I managed to lose my flip-flop in the process. Ha!
We had a surprisingly good time at the river. Next time, though, I will bring the proper foot attire for the boys and myself and I will leave the fancy camera at home. But aren't the pictures worth almost being swept away downstream? ;)
