Dora sat with us (after trying to sit with Walker and falling out of the chair, which is why Jake is dieing laughing) and fed Walker.  Tyson almost had a coronary.

Sorry it took me so long to update; I'm so behind, but the blogger wouldn't let me upload any more pictures until now.  I guess I reached my limit on pictures?  Ha!

 

So the second day at the Nickelodeon Hotel started off with a bang with the character breakfast.  We got to see all of the characters pictured above, and we got to spend a lot of time with them since the breakfast wasn't very crowded.  The boys had a blast!  (Especially Walker who had his life-long dream (all 2.5 years of his life, that is) of meeting Dora fulfilled).

 

After the breakfast, we explored the mall some and then went to watch some of our favorite Nick shows in 3-D.  We had really big plans that day to go to Disney and see the electrical parade that night, so we called it an early day and went back to our hotel room to nap.  Well, long story short, I started getting sick during nap time; we ended up cutting our trip short and went home.  We did let the sweet family who takes care of Sam while we're gone take over our stay at the hotel, though. 

 

I felt so bad leaving early, but we did pack a lot into that 24 hours that we were at the hotel.  Jake had the best time of his life and hasn't stopped talking about the Nick Hotel yet. :)

Nick Hotel: Ninja Turtle Edition

 Jake made this sign for the ninja turtles that he held up while the turtles did this little song and dance routine.  I'm pretty sure Jake thought he was at a football game with all the hooping and hollering that he did!  Ha!

 All the birthday kids came to the center and got to dance with the turtles.  It was so stinkin' hilarious!!

 After each meal, Jake got a birthday cupcake and got sung "happy birthday" to.

 

 

 

As I mentioned in the previous post, Jake chose to go to the Nickelodeon Hotel for his birthday instead of having a party.  We've passed the Nick Hotel coming back from Disney a few times and it looked pretty cool, plus our friends, the Wensyels, went there this fall and told my boys all about it, so we were dieing to check it out.

 

The Nick Hotel has a pretty awesome water park (which I'll show you in another post) that I was hoping we'd be able to get to use, but as fate would have it, last weekend was the coldest weekend we've had this year in Orlando.  Figures.  We still had a great time, though.

 

As soon as we checked into the hotel, Jake got a birthday button that alerted everyone that he was celebrating his 5th birthday.  Anytime you passed the hotel staff, they wished Jake a happy birthday.  He thought he was big time. Ha!  And as I mentioned above, Jake also got a cupcake and was sang and danced to at every meal.  He got the royal treatment, indeed.

 

Our first night there, we went to dinner at Antonio's Pizza-Rama with the Ninja Turtles.  No lie, I have never seen Jake Summers so happy!!  He had the time of his life!!!  Walker started letting up towards the end and had a good time, but those characters just scare him to death!

My big boy turns 5 on January 4th!!  I am just in shock saying that!  Anyways, Jake actually asked to go to the Nickelodeon Hotel here in Orlando instead of having a party, and I was ecstatic with his decision!  Something about birthday parties just stress me out!  Ha!  I was a little worried, though, that he'd end up regretting not having a party, so my mom and I concocted a plan to have a "little party" for him in Tifton while we were there for Christmas.  Long story short, his "little party" turned into a donut-decorating surprise party with 9 kids and 15 adults.

 

My sister was a huge help in planning the party- she actually suggested having it at the Daylight Donuts place in Tifton, which was perfect.  It was a cute set-up, a super easy party, and very inexpensive.  The kids got to decorate donuts and the adults got to eat them.  Ha!  Ok, that was mainly just me doing that. ;)  We were so happy to be able to have all of our family there for Jake's birthday; it was the first time we've been able to celebrate his birthday with our family.

 

Oh, and about the surprise- I went a little early to help set-up and Tyson brought the boys a little later once all of our family had arrived.  Jake walked in the door and was totally unphased by everything; then, we all yelled surprise and he had the most confused look on his face.  It wasn't until Tyson explained that the surprise party was for him did he get it.  Once he did, though, he just lit up and was super excited.  Overall, it was a huge success!  Jake kept telling me thank you over and over again and that I'm the best mama ever. ;)
