Santa Came Early!

Since we have to leave for Statesboro on Christmas Day, we asked Santa to come early.  He came this past Tuesday, December 22nd so that Tyson could be home to see what the boys got. (Tyson has been in and out since being named head coach.  Life is crazier than ever!)
These two rascals snuck down at 3 am while we were sleeping and checked out their loot.  They even got into their stockings!!
At least Anderson was surprised to see what Santa brought!

Merry Christmas!!

SNOW OVER IT!

While Tyson and I were in Georgia interviewing for the Georgia Southern job, my cousin Trey flew out to Colorado to keep the boys for us.  We've had snow on the ground since the big snow storm last week, so Trey was excited to play in it with the boys.  They had lots of snow ball fights and even built an awesome snowman that is still standing.  Ha!  They didn't shovel the driveway, though, and it's still a hot mess!  I've shoveled that thing so many times, but the snow just NEVER goes away.  Take me back to Georgia ASAP!

We're on the Move Again!

http://gseagles.com/news/2015/12/20/FB_1220150340.aspx

This past Saturday night, December 19th, Tyson was named the head coach at Georgia Southern University!!  Whew!  What a whirlwind it has been, but we are soooooooooo excited!

Tyson always relies on me for "the scoop" when it comes to the coaching carousel, so when Willie Fritz (the former head coach at GSU) was announced head coach at Tulane, I immediately texted Tyson and told him.  I knew this was a dream job for Tyson, and it was OPEN!  Long story short, he applied, got an interview, and then got called in for a second interview.  I had to go to Statesboro with him for the second interview so that I could be interviewed, too.  Talk about crazy!!  When we got there, we met with the Interim President (Dr. Jean Bartels) and the AD.  Dr. Bartels was awesome!  She said something about being a former nurse, so I told her I was a former nurse as well, and we clicked instantly!  I keep telling Tyson that I got the job for him. Hahaha!

After our interview with the President and the AD, they took us to a room to be interviewed by a panel.  Well, I was expecting the panel to be about 5-10 people, but when they took us to the room, we were greeted by about 40 people who were all staring at us and waiting to shake our hands.  Talk about intimidating!  Luckily, I left shortly after I was introduced to be shown around Statesboro by the AD's wife.

The AD's wife and I were gone about an hour or so while Tyson was being interviewed by the panel, and then we went back and met up with him.  Tyson and I were given a tour of the new facilities while the panel met and decided on the new coach.  We were then taken back to the AD's office and offered the job!!!

Tyson and I are so excited to be heading back closer to our families!!  Maybe my boys will finally start saying "y'all" and "maam" and "sir" more often.  Hahaha!  I'm going to house hunt in Statesboro over Christmas break, and the plan is to move ASAP.  We've already lived so much without Tyson this past year, I really don't want to be away from him any longer than we have to.

School Christmas Parties!

SNOW DAY!!!

So apparently, you don't get a lot of snow days from school in Colorado.  But we did today!!  A huge snow storm rolled in early this morning and wasn't enough time for the roads to get cleared and made for poor visibility, so school was cancelled!  We played in it for about 10 minutes, but Walker and Anderson kept falling and couldn't get up and were miserable!!  Jake had a blast sledding, though, until he face-planted.  Hahaha!

Let it Snow!

It hasn't snowed here in about 2 weeks, so when it did this past weekend, the boys were outside playing in it as fast as they could.  I need to do a separate post on snow (i.e. snow gear, getting the boys dressed for school, driving in it, etc) from a Southerner's perspective.  Y'all, the snow is A LOT of work!  Whew!  More on that later.  :)

2nd Grade Christmas Program

I need to come back and add the video, but here is a pic from Jake's Christmas program.  I was so proud of him- he really danced and got into it.  That's huge improvement from when he used to stand there and pick his nose at his performances.  Hehehe

Fort Collins Santa Claus!

Jake explaining to Santa that he wants a hypoallergenic dog for Christmas...along with about 10 other things from his list.
When asked what he wants, Walker asked me, "what do I want again, mama?" Hahaha!
Anderson was mesmorized with "tanta."  He kept telling Santa that he wants a "blue tar (car)."
I deep down wanted to put Anderson on Santa's lap and get my last crying baby Santa picture, but Santa didn't want to scare Anderson.  Boo!
