August Thomaston Trip

My mom has been pulling some old toys out of the attic lately.  The boys have really enjoyed playing with my old Barbie house and Barbie cars- except they don't play with the actual Barbies, they use dinosaurs, little dog figurines, Legos, and anything that isn't a Barbie.  Hahaha!  It's still funny to walk by my old Barbie house and see a huge T-rex hanging outside on the balcony.
These boys sure do love their PaPa!  Doesn't my mom look amazing?  This was definitely the start of the week; by the end of the week, she looked a lot more exhausted.  These boys will do it to you!

My mom can't hold Anderson because of her feeding tube, and I can tell it just kills her.  :(
My grandmother had to be put in a nursing home over the weekend because my cousin (who helps take care of her) went out of town.  Granddaddy drove over to Thomaston two days in a row, and then we drove to Cochran to see him on our way to the beach.  I loved seeing my Granddaddy so much, but I missed my grandma at the same time.

The boys LOVE playing my parents' piano.  It drives me nuts, but I used to do it, too.

My dad's brother, Uncle Bobby, drove down from Atlanta to see all of us, and he brought soccer goals to play with the kids.  My parents' neighbor, Perrin, came over and joined in on the game to make it kids vs the King brothers.  With a little help from the adults, the kids won.  Walker kicked the winning goal. :)

Anderson watched from inside and was itchin' to come crawl around and play.

I believe this is a goal that dad kicked that Jake tried to block.  Dad got the goal.

 Kids win!
This is my Granddaddy's brother, Uncle Wallace, and my Granddaddy.  My Granddaddy sure loves his brothers.
The rest of the crew plus Aunt Vivian joined in.
Our last visitor of the day was my friend Jill and her daughter Ansley.  It had been way too long since I've seen them.  Jill is always so good about getting us together, and this time, she even made a special trip to Thomaston to come see us.  I sure love that girl!

We stayed in Thomaston for a few days and then headed to St. Simons for some fun in the sun.  On our way out of town, we stopped by this old covered bridge for some pictures.

Like I said earlier, we stopped through Cochran on our way to St. Simons to see my Granddaddy.  We miss you already, Granddaddy!

We just got the internet up and running at my parents' condo in St. Simons, so I am having to back track a little on this post.  Excuse me if I seem a little scattter-brained. ;)

Tyson started football camp on July 31st, so the boys and I hit the road to Thomaston to visit my parents one last time before school starts.  It was my first time driving from Orlando to Thomaston by myself, and surprisingly, the trip went really well.  We stopped for a little bit in Tifton to see my sis and her kiddos and stretch our legs, and then we hit the road.  Other than that stop, we only had to stop one other time out of the whole 7 hours in the car.  Whew!  7 hours with just me and my 10 month old, 4 year, and 6 year old- I feel like I deserve a trophy for that!

Anyways, once we got to Thomaston, we did a lot of eating, playing with neighbors, and destroying my parents house.  Ha!  We also had lots of visitors (as photographed above) and my dad took the boys fishing.  Jake told me the night before we left for the beach that he "has had the best time these last few days."  We really did have so much fun.  Poor mom was starting to wear down, but she pushed through so we could all go to the beach.  Ok, more on the beach next. :)

Family Pics

 My loves. Team Summers.
This sweet boy wanted a picture with just his mama. :)
Walker told me the other day that he wished I wasn't already married because he wants to marry me.
This is my favorite family photo.  If only Anderson was smiling. 4 out of 5 isn't bad.
 OMG I love this one!
I mean, how do you choose between all this cuteness?

My sweet husband, who isn't one for photographs, asked to have a picture taken with just me.  I was shocked and oh so happy. I think he stole the idea from Walker. Love this man.

 Future heartbreaker right here.
Oh my goodness, the love between these two. Anderson calls Jake "dada" a lot.

Anderson wasn't feeling the individual photos that day.  Good thing he's cute.

We had our family pictures taken last week before Tyson started work full time.  Why are family photos so stressful?  Jeez!  And I had the perfect little outfits planned for the 3 boys to change in to, but the boys were so cranky (and mama was too hot to move) that we scratched that idea really fast.  I love the way the pictures turned out regardless.  Not too bad for 8 am on a humid July morning in Florida, right?

Sweet Summertime

This summer will definitely be known as the summer of friends.  Since moving into the new house, the boys have had at least one play date (sometimes two or three) every day that we've been home.  The kids often end up at my house for some reason, but I'm completely fine with that.  I'm definitely going to miss the full house when school starts back.

The Many Faces of Anderson

This is his newest expression, "the stink eye."

Football Party!

We have had one busy weekend at the Summers' house.  It was Tyson's last weekend before being "deployed" (as my friend Michelle puts it) to football season, so we had a few things we needed to mark off the old checklist- having the football coaches and players over.  I didn't get any good pictures from Saturday when we had the coaches over, however, I made sure to get some Sunday of the players.  It was such a fun weekend and we were able to be with a lot of people that we care about...I just wish we could have had more time together the 5 of us.  It has been such a long year between having Anderson, the Fiesta Bowl, and Tyson transitioning to the DC role, I just don't feel like we've had enough time together.  And now with my mom being sick, things are only going to be harder.  I've never dreaded a football season so much, and I feel so bad for Tyson, too.  I can't imagine the stress he is already under and going to continue to be under. :(

Ok, I'll try to be more positive and upbeat in the next post.  Go Knights!

Sketti

He was clapping "yay" here. :)

Anderson had his first taste of spaghetti today, and he tore it up.  He was double fisting, shoveling it into his mouth.  For real, I dumped some on his tray, turned around to walk back to get the rest of his food, walked back, and he had eaten all gone.  And I don't give him baby size portions- this boy can EAT! He eats as much, if not more, than Walker!  I'm definitely in trouble when these boys grow up and REALLY start eating! :)
